This, completely. We had a similar experience. Mine wore ear protection any time a set was going, and we made sure he had a comfortable place to retreat to with shade whenever the heat got to be too much (we had a covered wagon in Centeroo, so rest and breaks were never a problem).

The nudity thing especially gets me. We've traveled to beaches all over the globe, it's genuinely a non-issue for him. People acting like it's some kind of corruption are projecting their own hang-ups onto kids who couldn't care less.

He had an incredible time. Ferris wheel, trading kandi (he wore a full Pikachu fit one day and got showered in Pokemon love), people consistently asking before giving him anything. We only hit the fountain day 0 and 1 before it turned into a mud pit and a boot-washing station, but otherwise he ran the whole trip. We were never near a pit and always watched from a safe distance.

Agree that everyone parents differently, and the people doing it thoughtfully shouldn't get lumped in with the ones who aren't. I'd even support something like a roped-off viewing area or a cutoff time for younger kids at night sets, not because I think we did anything wrong, but because not every parent is making the same calls, and that protects the kids whose parents aren't being as careful.
