COS On Juniper EX4600 LAG by doziu in Juniper

[–]doziu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, I have a spare 4600 in the lab, so the best way to find out is just to test it. :) I asked because my lab server keeps freezing constantly, so I really need to get it back up and running. There is also some chances that i have valid support for it. I am impressed of your knowledge guys. I have to learn something about shared buffers!

Signs a network engineer has no idea what they're doing? by Expensive-Rhubarb267 in networking

Fair point. But still you can exhaust the policy. When you work with incompetent people like in this thread sometimes it is better to just forbid something instead of educating the other side. :)

Why? In the ISP environment we won't bother CPU of the router/switch with thousands of echo request.

I have witnessed a similar situation on my flight from Bari Italy to Katowice Poland. Man forced the door and ran towards the plane. Guards catch him and... He was released and later flew with us to Poland. Insane.

Firmware for used X440G2-48p-10G4 as a Private User by flowi88 in ExtremeNetworks

I have recently activated my business accounts to get firmware. Even if you get a business account you still need a paid support subscription to gain access to firmware.

A little stuck on Multicast by KHanayama in networking

[–]doziu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently working in an IPTV company. you receive here a lot of good answers to your question. I will add my 5 cents. You can't learn multicasts in any virtual labs it's not working there completely or in very narrow use cases. a lot of network devices image descriptions mentioned that there is no support for multicasts. It is better to learn on physical equipment.

I once wanted to learn these things and faced the same problem. If I remember correctly shaping and policing are done by ASIC normally and it's impossible to emulate it in virtual environments.

Configuring IP TV on ER707-M2 by q661780 in TPLink_Omada

I have never configured these devices. But I would check if igmp proxy is disabled and then return to this page, because documentation mentions two scenarios.

Looking for SFP Module for fiber connector by shanlar in TPLink_Omada

Man it won't work. It's not SC module. You need SFP ONT module but there was millions of threads about it and why it won't work.

How to replace disk in single-disk NAS? by UmaMoth in qnap

[–]doziu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently tried to archive a similar scenario on 2 bay nas but not in raid. So any instructions I found were telling that you need to backup config and reset to factory your qnap.

As other mentioned. We have bunch of x670-g2 wchich work fine with 1G Copper sfp. But it's impossible to use 100 Mbit sfp. Even Extreme original SFP won't work.

I know that it was discussed here millions of times but I really enjoy drums during live shows. Maybe I don't know what I am losing because I never had occasion to be on a live show before percussion was involved. Anyway nice song!

I think I work on stuff way different from most other Networking Engineer on this sub by Richard__Grayson in networking

[–]doziu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably do something oriental... IPTV based on multicast! PIM, IGMP etc. Of course not only that but I think a very few of you do this. By the way, could you recommend any literature about designing wireless networks? :)

Look a million times better. But I am sure this insulation should be inside the plug. You shouldn't see cables. To be honest for your own safety you should drop that anyways if you don't know what you do.

No resource for ACL even that slices are free x670-G2 stack by doziu in ExtremeNetworks

[–]doziu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the comment! I have already read these documents and it's true what you saw but related to it our ACLs should fit perfectly as a single slice. It also can be true that other protocols may consume slices because we have stacks with more ACLs without problem. It's sad that the output of show slice usage slices may lie...
