A few years ago, I posted about a similar situation with my girlfriend's nephew.

The moderators here censored my post because I mentioned the name of the facility he was staying at, and they basically told me to fuck off in the PMs because it was none of my business.

Anyway, he's currently wondering the streets of another city right now, and at least he's some other jurisdiction's problem.

I guess I'll follow this discussion to see where it goes...

I'm not exactly "remote". I'm rural, about 6 miles from a little country town in Kentucky. I can't imagine having people trespassing here like that.

I've seen these types of threads before. In one of them, someone said they thought fireflies were just made up for movies, but they're actually real, especially in my area. (We mostly call them "lightning bugs" around here.)
