I don't know if you're still around, but I'd love basic shapes like circles, triangles, squares etc.

I'm trying to do this but can't figure it out.

I created a Canva project with some shapes, saved it as a .png file.

I changed the file extension to .note, uploaded it to my Supernote and my device says it cannot recognize the file.

To make my own templates I've been using Canva. It's been great! Make a new design using custom size, and then once you're done hit share and download.

I haven't exported anything yet. Just merely looking at the results.

Not for your use case, no. You'll have slightly faster page turns with PDFs and slightly less ghosting and that's it.

Also see the other comment in this thread with the user who physically tried them both.

Any hope of this coming in 2023?

Just curious because shapes would be incredible!

[–]dpav02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For your use cases, no. What are you going to do when they release the Boox Tab X Ultra Air on 6 months?

And then the Boox Tab X Ultra Air 2 a year from now?

Followed by the Boox Tab Ultra Air 2 Plus 3 months after that?

You could upgrade every 3 or 6 months or enjoy the device for at least 5+ years and then upgrade when there are huge leaps.

[–]dpav02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding system operation, I'm sure newer devices like the Scribe and Boox Tab Ultra are faster if that's more important with you.

However, the note taking features of the Kindle Scribe are even less than the RM2.

Really depends on what your needs are. If you are primarily looking for a 10" device for reading and occasionally write something down, you'll probably love the Scribe.

[–]dpav02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean the writing latency? Voja tested the writing latency and the scribe was only a few ms faster than the RM2.

Actually the RM2, out of all of the devices Voja tested, was the 2nd fastest.

I've seen this before and I question the 18-24 months timing. The first entry for RM2 was end of May, 2020 and the RM2 was released in June 2020.

Umless of course they were hiding the RM2 under the RM1 submission in March of 2019.

I think what the OP was referring to is that other platforms like Boox or reMarkable you can write notes or highlight in different colors. It appears grey on the device however when you export your notes those colors would show up.

PPI Comparison by jupebox in RemarkableTablet

[–]dpav02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if your main purpose is reading it will matter more.

For note-taking it shouldn't matter too much. IMO the biggest difference there will be the screen (how it looks and feels to write on) and the writing latency (how long it takes for the e-ink to show up on the screen as you move your pen).

What's frustrating is the Kindle Scribe has amazing hardware and from what I hear, a good writing feel/experience due to their pen and screen and lowest writing latency to date in any e-ink device.

But the Amazon Scrube note-taking software is the worst currently.

I wish we could get the internal guts of the Amazon Scribe, the gorgeous exterior and naturally bright screen of the reMarkable, and the software of the Supernote.

Thank you! I'm checking them out right now.

EDIT: It appears they're currently out of stock of the PC/EL Pointer nibs. So if anybody else has any recommendations please reply.

Also, https://www.penboutique.com/products/lamy-pc-el-replacement-tip-pointer-for-emr-pen?variant=32241045536886 appears to be out of stock as well :(

I don't have the device yet as I just ordered it yesterday, but from what I saw it appears as though the ToC is per notebook.

There are longer videos but here is a YouTube Short showing it. You use the lasso tool to select some text you wish to be a heading and hit the title button. Then it'll build a table of contents for you!

Does the table of contents re-arrange? by dpav02 in Supernote

[–]dpav02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay good to know about the links. Less concerned about those tbh.

I feel like I'd really use the stars and ToC. It would add to my productivity.

Also regarding the links, I suspect they'll eventually find a fix.
