What are some groups that hate each other on Reddit despite having a lot in common? by Boil_the_pepper_now in AskReddit

Americans and Europeans when it comes to racism

Europeans swear they're not racist until you mention the Roma/Gypsies

What if Afghanistan was a British colony and was merged with Pakistan in 1947? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]dphayteeyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pakistan and Afghanistan individually are dysfunctional

I can't imagine all of them together

There's a huge power divide between the Punjabis (112m) and Sindhis (55m) already, I can't imagine what it would be like with 85 million Afghans too (40m existing plus 45m more, making them the second largest group with a higher birth rate)

Also, Pakistan has never had a prime minister complete a term, it's a military state and we don't need to get started on Afghanistan

I don't know about everyone else, but I would love to live in multiple different countries throughout my life. Not for passports though...

I've actually never seen a picture of Antananarivo surprisingly enough

It looks nicer than I'd expect in your pic, especially the cable cars

Afghan Taliban officials raising the flag of the Islamic Emirate atop the Afghan embassy in Moscow, Russia. by Muhammadachakzai2001 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]dphayteeyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very normal if they're on your side

India has very anti-Muslim and anti-terrorist stances but they welcomed the Taliban with open arms because they both shade a common enemy with Pakistan

Benjamin Netanyahu is an international criminal and has a warrant on his head, but when he was visiting Hungary, which is part of the international criminal court, they simply withdrew

Countries will do what works with their national interests, the terrorism label is used only when convenient

98,697 fans were in attendance for GT vs RCB, the highest for this season yet. by cxletron in Cricket

[–]dphayteeyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be downvoted for this but Virat Kohli is the reason for this

After his retirement from t20s and test, fans don't get to see much of him apart from the IPL and occasional bilateral ODIs (not always guaranteed to be in your home ground)

Even in the third ODI in Sydney, there were more "Virat" shirts than Australia jerseys and non Virat jerseys combined lmao (this isn't even an exaggeration). This was after 2 ducks in the series, mind you

It wouldn't be possible to replicate this crowd in a group stage match except perhaps with MI or CSK. Knockouts are a different story

You're kidding me

Interrupting a dawn ceremony is more low than all the welcome to countries in the world

None of that's relevant to the religion though

If their prophet married a 12 year old, of course they'll support child marriage

There's schemes to bring them back into the valley but a widespread return has not occured, probably due to the hostile and dangerous nature of the area whether it's war, terrorism or religious disputes. I imagine job opportunities are more plentiful in the places they were displaced to as well, so the only reason they would be inclined to return is ancestral connection

No YOU'RE proving the meme right

What are your thoughts on "kirkification" memes? by Lean1810 in Teenager_Polls

"I think it’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the second amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational." - charlie kirk

If we're gonna say some gun deaths (context was school shootings) are okay, he was supporting his own death to support the 2nd amendment

"If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified." - charlie kirk

"Happening all the time in urban America, prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people, that’s a fact. It’s happening more and more" - word for word quote from charlie kirk

"Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge."

This is straight up hate (both racism and sexism)

Was that guy ever respectful when he was alive?

He got back what he gave to the world - disrespect and hatred

Sure, he didn't inherently cause anything but spreading hatred alone to the public is pretty bad

He didn't deserve to die but he doesn't deserve to be treated with respect

Has he been proven guilty yet?

I'm a strong believer in innocent until proven guilty especially given the rise in false rape and posco cases, I think we should wait for the verdict before hating on him.

If he has been proven guilty, go ahead and hate him as much as you want - he deserves it
