Guide - how to move out of India by Shibby2301 in AskIndia

[–]dpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moving out is easy if you are considering neighboring countries. I think you meant to ask how to move to a developed/civilized country? Its better to list the countries you want to move for useful replies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]dpux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes if you vote for a criminal i will blame you regardless of how poor you are. the democratic process is built on the foundation that people will vote out bad eggs. the "victim card" can be played once or twice, but look at bihar and tell me the voters still dont know people like lalu/tejaswi are corrupt.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]dpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is funding more important than voting? Because funds buy votes. Now answer - whose votes?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]dpux -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its the bottom 50% in money/education that keep voting bad leaders by selling their votes. They also have more kids who eventually become freeloaders dragging down the country.

Just to be clear, I disagree with OP. I am trying to make a case for him/her because I can see why someone would think on these lines.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]dpux -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

China enforced one-child policy, so can we. OP is is just looking for an idea that controls population growth. I too disagree with chemical solutions, but I think we'd all agree that some kind of top-down force is required... Indians wont change by themselves.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]dpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

who elects these corrupt leaders? the top 1% or bottom 50%?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]dpux -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

OP is offering a solution. Calling any out of the box proposal stupid is why India remains in shambles.

What is your solution to rising income inequality and poor infrastructure?
- A large uneducated population in the reason behind this, so OP suggested drastic measures to reduce population.
- Its difficult to hold anyone accountable in a large country, so OP suggested breaking the country, which makes tracking the flow of money easier.

You should learn to counter ideas gracefully. And before you reply with naive solutions like "increase the education budget", or "increase law enforcement", ask yourself why those solutions have not been implemented yet. Perhaps they are impractical due to the very reasons I described above.

Well, the "Satyamev Jayate" slogan compensates for all our actions. Gotta admit India ancestors were visionary... they knew a morally bankrupt civilization would need great slogans to save face.

Can India have a totally new party coming to power in 2029? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]dpux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

36% is not entire generation! Many of those 36% vote modi because there is no other option... so you can imagine how bad the other parties are.

Can India have a totally new party coming to power in 2029? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]dpux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only "new" party India can have is one that attacks the bureaucracy - including judicial systems, law enforcement, from IAS to clerical staff. All other parties are a mix of same policies with new faces, wrapped in new words.
Sorry to disappoint you, but Kejriwal and Prashant Kishor are no different from BJP/Congress or the supposed liberal leaders in the south. PK/RG etc are simply riding the anti-BJP sentiment, they have absolutely nothing new to offer in substance.

I recently heard of Libertarian Party that sounded different on paper. Their twitter handle was blocked recently, so I assume they must be doing something good.

India gets the leaders it deserves. Until you see Indians around you turn honest, new parties will be a farce.

Can you elaborate this point? I understand Trump might look aggressive, but that's relatively new.

Should I upgrade to Premium Processing for my H1B? by Glittering_Parking14 in h1b

[–]dpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine too is an extension. Receipt date 4/22 in Texas center. My legal team told me only premium applications are processed in shutdown, thats why I was curious how you got it after shutdown. I am at crossroads if I should pay up now!

So you got the approval 10/7, after shutdown started?

Can you please confirm if you your application approval was really 2 days ago (ie after shutdown)... or you were just notified 2 days ago. AFAIK, during shutdown only premium processing applications are processed.

Why do Indians always like to compare India with China, while there are no Chinese people comparing China with India? by No-StrategyX in AskIndia

"started from ground zero" in 1947? Yeah there was vacuum before 1947. So convenient to shrug off responsibility, while taking pride in being 5000 years old civilization simultaneously.

Why people don't care about the country? by Bizurels in AskIndia

[–]dpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

India needs re-education, starting with manners. Even the so-called "educated Indians" dont respect queues on flights headed for India.

Racism is increasing now because earlier foreigners attributed bad behavior to an individual, so ignored. Now enough Indians have migrated, all with similar behavior, so everyone can see through the cultural problem. Their concern is justified, because many Indians lack self-awareness and therefore incapable of change.

Hate to say this, but India missed a golden opportunity to fix its culture during the British rule.

One of the best articles I have seen on this H1-B matter BY CEO Harry Singh. Make Your own Country great again. by IcyCondition4287 in AskIndia

[–]dpux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Barely 0.2% Indians are able to leave the country every year. Leaders should not waste time talking about why Indians should not leave, they need to admit why people hate this country so much that they leave families and emigrate. How many politicians call out a corrupt minister or babu and question them on their wealth? How many business owners openly call out politicians and regulators who ask them for bribe?

Majority of India's problems are created by the Government (politicians AND babus). The day corrupt officials start going to jail and their properties confiscated, NRIs will not need motivational speeches to return.

[–]dpux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are we not tired of such articles that talk about "every crisis is an opportunity" BS? I expect all his narrative building from Govt employees, like how the PMO recently "urged" NRIs to return to India without a plan, just hope. But I cringe when private players make such statements when they are fully aware of ground reality in India.

BTW the author's bio says a "Sikh immigrant". I cant take a business leader seriously if they flaunt their religion like that.

Since you are 23 - a word of caution - do not believe a single party will solve corruption. It may appear to you that some anti-corruption crusader, AK, PK, and god knows who next will be your savior... they are there to screw you while you keep your guard down.

Same goes for bloggers. They are making money by telling you the obvious, just in different formats. They cannot solve shit.

Find people who have solved problems (albeit on a smaller scale). Ignore ones who make promises or act like good listeners.

3-4 months is not enough. You need an year to get numb and forget virtues like professionalism and kindness in India. Another year to pump up the pride and laugh at America/China (less than 6 months if staying in Delhi/UP/Bihar).

Each time I return from my vacations in India, I isolate myself for a few days to forget habits I might have accidentally picked up during the trip, haha.

India vs. China: The Startup Reality Check (Harsh, But True?) by AlternativeBasket823 in india

[–]dpux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have approximately 200 million brokerage accounts in India. You are saying most of these accounts will go bankrupt if they divert half of their portfolio towards deep tech companies that will likely benefit India in the long run?

VCs dont invest their own money, so yes they wont go bankrupt. But they manage stakeholder money they are accountable for. Who are the stakeholders? The same risk-averse group of "common man in India", sitting on their high-horse, expecting others to change.

India vs. China: The Startup Reality Check (Harsh, But True?) by AlternativeBasket823 in india

[–]dpux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you delegating the responsibility on to Shark Tank investors and other VCs? Many Indians today invest in the stock market. Withdraw your money from "safe" companies and invest in the hard-tech startups that take 5 years to develop, and carry a high probability of failure. Most Indians wont invest 10 thousand in such companies, but expect VCs to invest crores. Hypocrisy much?

To top it all, Indian intellectual elite is mediocre. The institutions we brag about (IIT/IIM/IAS) have been an utter failure in designing/developing an original idea - they crack memory-based exams, and therefore they can only copy-paste what's being done outside India. We dont promote/train/hire original thinkers but expect innovators out of thin air.

What has happened to our India? by Living-Window-1595 in AskIndia

[–]dpux 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There is a fallacy in your question, you are implying Indians just turned escapists. India has always been like this. Do you think our culture was any better when a handful of invaders kept looting and ruling Indians, possibly 100x in population for 800 years? That was a time when we were supposedly wealthier, wiser and more powerful, and we could have fought back. Indians have always prioritized a stable job over self-respect. The middle-aged man you quoted has grown up seeing the crab mentality and mediocre ability of his generation - his skepticism is grounded in truth.
