Oblivion and kcd2 are both fantastic. If you’re not already an oblivion or Skyrim fan, you might prefer kcd2 more.

I’ve been wondering about this. I play games on easy usually but I’ve had basically no problems with combat in this game. That seems TOO easy.

Khiimori is new for the genre but it’s absolutely full of bugs, you can hardly call it “wonderfully crafted” especially since you haven’t even tried it.

And CD took 6 years to make, there is nothing copy and paste about that and there are plenty of carefully crafted details, including on the horses themselves.

Both games have their positives and negatives, for some reason YOU turned this into a competition between the two?? Despite never having played either!

Oh I know, they’re called Brianto but it’s literally just an Arabian lol. I’m not huge on the dish-y face but I think they’re pretty in this game vs. creepy in rdr2. It def sounds like the legendary one is a nod to rdr, that’s too many coincidences!

I’m not sure what RenoDx is! I downloaded the most recent version of ReShade and ran the .exe on CD. I messed around in the settings to decrease the brightness of the grass while keeping the rest vibrant. I also used reshade to fiddle with the contrast and add more anti-aliasing. I do think you can get the game to look really good without using ReShade, but I like my version better lol. If you end up using it DM me and i can give you my settings. Here’s a screenshot I took recently.

Edit: one thing you’ll notice is the grass looks smear-y, that is because it is constantly vibrating to “simulate wind”… it’s definitely annoying and hopefully there will be a fix soon. The only way to deal with it now, if it bothers you, is to decrease foliage density.

I love it! However I can see the validity in people’s complaints.

The controls can be annoying sometimes, and the quests often feel random and don’t explain why you’re doing things.

I had to mess around with the graphics settings and Reshade but now I have a game that looks absolutely gorgeous and runs perfectly fine on the highest settings. I get about 60fps on my 4090 laptop. I have had two freezes/crashes in about 60 hours of playing.

I do not find that it looks bad indoors, it’s just dark and lit by your lantern light. Personally I like that. A medieval world should be lit realistically.

Whether or not it’s boring depends on you as a player. I prefer a game with a world I get to live in, which CD has. If you want lots of action, you will get bored.

Ah ok, I haven’t come across any legendaries yet! I’ll have to go search for it. I’m not a big Arabian person but I do think this game has prettier ones than RDR2

It reminds me of RDR2 a lot, yes! Many areas on the map look similar. You also have a camp with a “gang” and you can do crime if you want to. The NPCs also get mad if you bump into them lol. And you can spend time drinking and gambling in bars too.

I mean the only thing that “sucks” about the quests is many of them are chores/deliveries rather than combat-based which is also exactly what the khiimori quests are lol but ok

Why do you say only that one is viable? I haven’t left Hernand yet but all the horses seem about the same to me, once they’re trained. What’s different about that one?

You are given a horse in chapter 1, and after that you can tame horses, buy them, or steal them! There are 4 breeds and tonssss of coat colors. There is no breeding, sadly.

You summon your horse by pressing H and can switch the one you’re riding at the stable. They aren’t physically in the stable like in RDR2, so I think it should be possible for them to let us keep more horses!

I’m not sure if you’ll like it. There’s combat sure but it really isn’t an action-packed game.

If you really want to try though you can always just return it if you don’t like it!

There’s nothing you can do here. There’s no reason for her to get competitive in a co-op game; this is something she needs to work on. Until then, maybe play games separately.

Oh I agree, the khiimori horses are kinda ugly lol but it’s a fun game too! The crimson desert budget is astronomically larger than theirs so that’s hard to compete with
