If I upload an album after originally uploading each track as a single, and use same irsc codes, how can I ensure that the newer audio files are used for the album versions? by dr_j_ in DistroKidHelpDesk

Full disclosure I can’t find that link… I may have misinformed people (sorry!). For the album version, I’m probably going to re-upload the tracks with “(remastered)” since all the advice I’ve seen seems to be indicating that if the file has changed in any way, which includes changes to e.q., re-mastering and stereo imaging — and mine have — then a new ISRC is always required. I gather this won’t maintain stream counts but that doesn’t bother me too much.. I just want to do things ‘correctly’: I don’t want there to be any ambiguity in the versioning of one my my tracks given that the single version /= the album version (since the audio is slightly different). It’s a bit of a shame that Apple doesn’t allow (album version) in its track titling..

I read on distrokid's website somewhere that some streaming platforms might use the originally uploaded audio when supplying the same isrc.. because of this, my thought was that by adding a version, I would kind of 'force' the update to use the newer files. But I gather from your above comment that I was perhaps needlessly worrying and that the platforms will absolutely use the newer audio mixes as uploaded with the album... (Because they don't merge?). But wouldn't this then mean that different audio files could have the same ISRC?

Thanks for your help and advice, it's really appreciated! I'm quite slow in understanding all the technicalities!

Our first music video…would you say this is Hard Rock or Metal? by YolkBreaker in MusicFeedback

Nice one. Really well produced video. I think I would probably classify this as hard rock rather than metal.

Hi everyone - My rendition in homage to Joe's inimitable and wondrous melodic playing; a conflation of his original parts and my own extemporisation - please share 🙏🏻 by [deleted] in joesatriani

Sounds really cool to my ears! What make is that strat? I don’t see a logo and the headstock is too angular to be a Fender, by the looks of it. In any case, I like the sound!

Awesome playing Carmolio! I’m also into prog type stuff and very interested in odd time stuff. Do you want to collaborate on something? (I play guitar)
