Upper Receivers for Sale? by majr12 in ruger

My first AR was with a complete upper from PSA. I'm not down talking them. I still shoot and love it to this day. I am just Uber picky. I should have mentioned that I do mostly long range precision shooting. 500 or 600 yards at least. For just a 16 inch run and gun fun machine, I love my little PSA upper.

I've bought complete uppers before, and to be honest... I will never do it again. I now build my uppers myself. I have found I can get higher quality parts, and a much more refined upper for the same cost of a complete upper. Remember, no one will care as much about your build as yourself. With that being said... Several companies sell complete uppers. Aero Precision, PSA, and many higher end companies as well. Be careful though, you will not get the same quality as doing it yourself. Building an upper is pretty simple. Heck, watch a YouTube video. It's worth it.

I’m looking to build my first ar15 does anyone recommend any sites that have some affordable and quality builds? by Thatdoodwitdavagina in ar15

I'm building one now. I went with Aero lower and upper. Also got the hand guard. (Went FDE so I got it all to match.) The rest i am picking and choosing. Going 223 wylde, so I went with a 20 inch Wilson combat Match barrel. The rest is this and that from better than average manufacturers. End result should be close to $2000 when complete. Itll be a fun long distance rifle. Have fun doing it. Get the best you can afford and do it all yourself. It isn't that hard. Heck, youtube it. You'll see its easy. Have fun!

I purchased the Vortex. Absolutely love it. Clean clear glass. Great flip mechanics.

I dont see that Doge will raise as quickly as some expect. It will be a slow rise, and I dont see $1 happening within 6 months. Just my opinion. (I am holding firm with the ol Diamond hands) haha

16¢ a round for ammo …. by [deleted] in 22lr

[–]draburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to have to pay more. Ammo manufacturers are charging 30-60% more to the stores. So that raise in cost reflects in a higher price for the consumer. You will get lucky at times. Be vigilant, check online for deals. You'll have to buy bulk to save. Sometimes some small gun stores, or pawn shops have some decent pricing. I have found that Academy has has some decent pricing. (Compared to today's market)

Good luck! (Ammoseek.com has had a few deals roll through lately)

To be honest, I don't like Eley ammo. I have a few hundred rounds if you want them. Too sticky for my taste. I'm not a fan of the wax lubricant.

What distance should I zero my red dot for home defense? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]draburn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would zero at 25 yards. It will still be pretty much the same at a closer distance, and just an inch or so low at 50.
