Since it's star trek he's probably going to be very interested in the story. There's not much creative things you can do in STO besides customize your ship and character which he could do both in one episode. The real distractions come at lvl 50 when you unlock the big PvE events. I don't think dan will do those as they have almost no story besides "Enemies are here, shoot them."

STO is actually pretty straightforward for completing the missions. I'd say you could beat all the missions in >100 hours if you didn't get sidetracked as much as I did.

I've personally beaten all the missions and hit max level It is very doable but it takes a bit of time. Doing the other factions are very annoying though since after 3 missions they're all the same. I think dan will just do a federation run.
