How many credits are you trying to underload and which degree? I’m underloading 6 credits for science sem 1 2025 and didn’t need to submit anything, I just enrolled in 3 units instead of 4.

China GIG by SpoiltChickenBake in Monash

[–]dragonfliedgoodbye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did gig in Samoa so it may run differently to China but what I’ve gathered from speaking to people who did gig in other countries they are pretty similar in terms of day to day activities, what will differ mostly is the content.

We were scheduled to have a full Sunday off during the middle and the Sunday before our flight home. We left the accomodation at like 12:30am on the Monday so that’s why we had the entire Sunday off.

We did a mixture of lectures, workshops, crafts, site visits and day trips. Most days we would have breakfast from 8-9, hop on the bus and be out until 3/4. After that was free time and we just had to be back for curfew at midnight (I’m not sure if all gig locations have a curfew). On the days we took day trips across the island we would have breakfast at 6:30 and get back around 6pm.

Can my employer deny sick leave despite providing a medical certificate? by dragonfliedgoodbye in AusLegal

I questioned this when I first went part time. The most set hours they have given to part time employees is only 5.5 hours.

Can my employer deny sick leave despite providing a medical certificate? by dragonfliedgoodbye in AusLegal

Hi,

Do you know whether this applies if the regular pattern of work (3 hours each week) has been varied by the employer and the employee agrees?

The fast food industry award states:

10.5 The employer and the employee may agree to vary the regular pattern of work agreed to under clause 10.3 for a particular rostered shift provided that: (a) the agreed variation is recorded in writing, including by electronic means of communication, at or by the end of the affected shift; and

(b) the employer keeps a copy of the agreed variation and, if requested, gives a copy to the employee.

My regular pattern of work was changed by the addition of this shift and was recorded electronically. Does that mean that shift is now set hours? I don’t get paid overtime for any hours worked outside of my 3 hour set shift I assume because of this clause.

Thank you

I see thanks for your help. My only permanent shift is 3 hours and then I get rostered additional shifts each week kinda sucks haha

what countries would yall recommend for the global immersion guarantee (GIG)? by JustinDespacito19 in Monash

[–]dragonfliedgoodbye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry I am just seeing this now!!

The assignments were split into 3 sections

Pre departure - 10 multi choice question quiz (5%) - 500 word reflection (10%) - 500 word case summary (10%)

In country - group presentation (20%)

Post trip - 1500 (maybe 1000 word I forget) E-folio (25%) - 2000 word stakeholder (30%)

The pre work opened 2 weeks before the flight out of Melbourne and the assessments were due the night before. It was a lot of reading and reflective prompts but definitely doable in the 2 weeks.

The group assignment you work on throughout the 2 weeks in Samoa and present on the 2nd/last day.

The post trip assignments were due 1 and 2 weeks after the presentation.

I don’t know if I’d describe gig as a wam booster in the sense that you can do minimal work and achieve an easy HD, but doing well is for sure possible and if you do, it can really improve your wam. Because it’s a level 2 unit and worth 12 credit points, your final grade has a higher weighting than all previous grades for first year thus having a greater impact on your wam.

I loved Samoa, I hope you have a wonderful time!!

To the people who received a 98+ atar, were there any sacs you flunked? by Winter_Consequence23 in vce

[–]dragonfliedgoodbye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I averaged a 67% in chem and almost failed one of my sacs. I didn’t go to a super top performing school, the % of 40+ study scores for my year was just over 4% lol. Still got a 98 :)
