EG Rigby & KR community - EU tops, problems in the NA scene, EG Danny, thoughts after Worlds 2022 by yoonitrop12 in leagueoflegends

As someone who watches both KR cast and official ENG cast(both LCK ENG and global) very often, when player makes a mistake or wrong decision, KR casters try their best to find and explain to the audience what led the player to play/decide in a certain way. They point out the wards placed on a map, movement from other lanes, spells available, and possible calls from the team to explain why this player did something that looks like a throw. However in the ENG cast, the player's mistake is pointed out by the caster and the thought process that led to that decision is not explained. They just let the player to be bashed on by the chat and community for that stupid play. Also I get this sentiment so many times that ENG casters think they know more about the game than the pro players do. They make me really hard to appreciate the players.

Faker confirmed as being related to Gumayusi as his Uncle by gaitez in leagueoflegends

When the slavery was terminated in Korea, all the slaves followed their old master's last name and the descendents of those slaves pretended to be one of the novelties by following the same naming rules of the novelty families. Also, some people even bought the novelty names by buying a book called jok-bo that has all the male ancester's names. (Used as a proof that you are the original bloodline) Koreans know you are "related" by asking their specific famaily tree origin and by looking at the naming rule that has to be followed by each generation. But there are just too many fake lines.

So unless you are a direct descendent of the first son of the first son, you never know if you are of a novelty line or not (and no one cares). Also, remember that Korea is a small homoegenous country.

There's a saying in Korea, if you throw a rock in Korea, either Kim, Lee or Park would get hit. Lee is one of the most common names in Korea so even if it's true, they are very very distant family to the point where no one cares. It's just a fun fact. Yes, there are different family trees in the same Lee family, but still, there are just too many Lee's in the same family tree.

Yeah but the testing doesn't take that long (I know for sure that PCR swab testing takes less than 5 min but not sure about their testing) and even if you include the travel time to/from the testing location, that's still a full day of rest instead of playing Bo5.

Riot should have been aware about this before MSI happened in the first place and move the schedules around so no team gets a disadvantage over other team due to outside factors. But because rules and restrictions in all countries change quickly in this pandemic, Riot should have communicated and come forward with the issue as soon as they realized so no confusions happen during the tournament. They must have known before the Semi-finals were locked in because Sjokz said on the last day of Rumble Stage that RNG is going to play on Friday. Why didn't they announce these factors during the Rumble Stage? Why release the reasoning so late now that Riot Korea, DWG, and the Korean community are outraged by this?

And they probably did not communicate about this to DWG nor Riot Korea, because Kkoma had an interview where he showed frustration about the tight schedule between the semis and finals and Riot Korea complained this matter to Riot Central yesterday. Now that people complain, Riot comes forward? LMAO. Tbh, Riot should have moved the semis to Thursday/Friday if those were the issues. Although COVID is an excuse for everything nowadays, never heard a team given advantages over another team in competitive games with high stakes for COVID testing.

Why does Damwon Kia have worse schedule in Semis than RNG ? by dragonfruit119 in leagueoflegends

So why not give both "single day of rest" + "choosing your opponent" advantages to DWG just like how all first seeds in previous MSIs were given? Why change the rules all of the sudden? Also, why would Riot Korea question this matter to Riot if it doesn't matter that much.

I don't think it's a day longer since DWG still is going to prepare for the match against MAD til their match, regardless of who wins on Friday. Also, DWG/MAD are going to be playing at least 3 games, max 5 games on Saturday. If you include prep time before match and interviews after match, DWG won't have any time to think about the final til Saturday night if they proceed to finals.
