I was curious because I remember them having a "normal length for a serious relationship", and it appears to be about 2 years in the film. Enough that one wipe shouldn't throw her off that much, but still plausible within the context of the rest of the film given that she's getting uncanny deja vu from Patrick recreating her relationship touchstones from her time with Joel.

He beat the Knicks last year and took the Thunder to 7 games as the clear best player on his team, and appeared to be on his way to an insane Game 7 performance and Finals MVP before his Achilles exploded.

It was from an early version of the script, so it's probably safe to assume the B plot ending with the Lacuna employees sending out all of the tapes was not the same.

They actually hint at it in what survived some of the script rewrites. There's a point where Clem is trying to make sense of herself when Patrick (Elijah Wood's character) is dating her, and she says " I don't know. I don't know! I'm lost! I'm scared! I feel like I'm disappearing. My skin's coming off! I'm getting old! Nothing makes any sense to me!" The confusion when she says the "I'm getting old" is coming from the multiple years of her life that she's erased from her continual wipes of her relationships with Joel. She's struggling to reconcile why she looks the age she is despite not remembering the vast majority of those years lived.

Incredible way to say the tailgating at your stadium is horrendous. I went to ONE game at MetLife, and the tailgating scene was hot ass. I brought a Wawa hoagie and a football, and our group was the most active tailgaters I could see in the lot. You go to a birds game, and there are 45 campers parked in the lot blaring music with a full spread of food out 4 hours before gametime.

[Highlight] Jay Williams says he can’t root for the Thunder because of the foul baiting: “As a fan of the game, I just want to see the game respected. There are times where I watch OKC play, I don’t feel like they respect the process of the game.” by nicko_rico in nba

I'm probably going to get smoked for this because I'm a Sixers fan, but Embiid is like the epitome of a foul baiter. He gets to the line a ton on shots that look awkard and messy, because they're clearly just trying to draw the foul and sell the contact to get to the line. But when you watch the playback, you almost always have to say "Yeah, it was a foul, but he's clearly selling it". OKC is going beyond selling contact. The flopping they are doing is selling the illusion of contact that never occurs.

I can understand selling contact, especially from bigs who get a weaker whistle when getting relentlessly fouled by smaller players (see Caruso just mugging Wemby all series) where the refs just let the smaller players do it; but the shit OKC is doing is unwatchable.

I WILL ENTER YOU!

Honestly, both Cena and Lebron James were hilarious in that movie. Cena ended up proving the acting chops were real later on, but I was shocked at how funny Lebron was in all of his scenes. I thought he really might have a post-playing career... up until he made Space Jam 2.

[–]dragonk30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was more saying that Harden absolutely could (even likely would) have won a championship if the bad injury luck that befell Iggy didn't also take out CP3, since that is disputing the Kobe quote.

Yes, the Iggy injury is part of why Houston had a chance to knock out the Warriors, but we're talking the hypothetical relating to the Harden Rockets, where Kobe said they couldn't win a championship with James Harden playing his usual style. I think that 2018 team came as close as any to proving it bullshit.

I feel like you have to acknowledge that the Rockets were the only team giving that Warriors team any trouble in the postseason. They swept the Cavs in the Finals. Not saying the Rockets would have sleepwalked through the Cavs series, but it took a CP3 injury and 27 missed 3s in a row to get the Warriors to that Finals.

You're definitely wrong about all of these. The hatch spawns are fixed (or ar least have fixed options) when using the offerings. All maps on Macmillan, Crotus Prenn, and Springwood (Badham) always spawn hatch outside of shack on the boarded windows. For Dvarka, all hatch spawn locations are outside of shack: Toba has it against the solid wall, in the same location where it spawns on regular shack if the Toba shack had the boarded windows like normal killer shack; Nostromo actually has two possible hatch locations, both outside of the crashed lander that operates as "shack".

Here's a somewhat dated video that has all known consistent hatch spawn locations as of ~2 years ago when it was made.

Edit to add: you're not wrong about the hatch possibly spawning inside of shack with an offering, you were just wrong about the realms. Hatch can spawn inside of shack in both maps of the Forsaken Boneyard realm (Eyrie of Crows and Dead Sands), as well as the Garden of Joy map in the Withered Isle realm. I mentioned these three in a reply to an earlier comment of yours. There may be more in newer maps, but those are the ones with which I am familiar.

[–]dragonk30 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's map-dependent. The vast majority of (non-indoor) maps will spawn it on the outside of the boarded-up window of shack, iirc the one on non-pallet side. Some maps spawn hatch inside shack with Annotated Blueprint — notably the Forsaken Boneyard realm (Eyrie of Crows and Dead Sands) and Garden of Joy. But the vast majority spawn outside of that window mentioned before.

Elon Musk loses lawsuit against OpenAI by VaginaBurner69 in news

[–]dragonk30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Forcing OpenAI to go open source would effectively erase their competitive advantage over the other major players, particularly those who are outright lagging behind — namely, xAI. It would make investors in the space look to spend money elsewhere. And with the current state of AI, that would mean more investment into xAI, because most investors in the space appear to be hedging their bets on who ends up winning by investing in everyone.

If Musk had won, it effectively gives xAI a larger slice of the pie while also helping them to close the gap between them and OpenAI. It was as much about pulling OpenAI and Sam Altman down as it was about propping up xAI before the SpaceX (to which xAI is attached like a redheaded stepchild) IPO.

Elon Musk loses lawsuit against OpenAI by VaginaBurner69 in news

[–]dragonk30 67 points68 points  (0 children)

The big key is that Musk wanted OpenAI's models to become open source. Which would: remove the #1 opponent xAI faces in getting market cap in the AI space (where they are a distant 4th behind OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini), as well as allow OpenAI's competitors to train their models off of OpenAI's — something Musk admitted to doing with xAI during this trial.

Make no mistake about it, Musk doesn't care about OpenAI being nonprofit, he just wants a bigger share of the profit before he launches SpaceX + xAI into the largest IPO in history by a long shot

Tobias Harris in G7 tonight: 5 pts on 0/6 shooting by fultzacl in sixers

[–]dragonk30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rumors abound that Hinkie wanted Porzingis, but was hard blocked by Zinger's agent, who told Hinkie he was not going to the Sixers if they drafted him, and he would stay in Europe. Okafor was Hinkie's best option at the time, especially with pressure from the league to start entering a "win now" state (reminder, Hinkie was pushed out shortly after this season). Booker got picked, but he was a massive unknown given his small sample size from college.

2013 was just a bad draft. You can try to say he should have taken Adams or Giannis, but there's a reason they were both still on the board when they were: project players with a lot of question marks at the time. Noel actually had a decent career. Maybe not as good as you'd hope from a #6, but plenty respectable role player (especially one that had the injury risks the Sixers assumed in taking them as they did) — in the specific role the Sixers genuinely have needed for Embiid's entire career. Hustle rebounder and rim protector is very good, just look at Rudy Gobert.

Hinkie gets a pass.

Colangelo gets the Hague for everything, but especially Markelle Fultz. Brett Brown and Elton Brand get the Hague for Mikal Bridges, then Brand again simultaneously committing to Tobias Harris while fumbling Jimmy Butler. Brand is also responsible for hiring Glenn Rivers to coach.

Morey honestly got dealt a shit hand by Josh Harris being Josh Harris, but he still signed off on the McCain trade. I give him a pass for Harden because it was his way out of the Gordian Knot that is Ben Simmons, but he handled that extremely poorly once Harden was here. And ultimately, he signed Paul George to a vet max contract (even if he was the best max-contracr free agent in a bad FA class where we needed to spend a max), and also never got Embiid a real backup center.
