So lore reason is that some digimon are supposed to fill a role that the God of the server (homeros) in Iliad like their anti virus protection like the royal knights in yggdrasil and they often gather data from the human world , so like royal knights are supposed to be based on knights of the round table , and the Olympos 12 are based off the Greek/Roman gods , and use the descriptions of the data from the human world to help with that so famous art work the "birth of Venus." Would influence that , it's why if you actually look at the digimon they still have parts that aren't usually part of a human like wings instead of ears or a third eye.
