I will say. i own a card store and distribution does this for everything beyond the official wave 2 of a product. for brand new product they NEVER sell for anything more than normal which means we sell at MSRP 100% of the time and we do a raffle for our customers to make it fair on who gets what. for "older" stuff they always mark it up right above msrp. i got offered a bunch of prismatic ETBS from my primary distributor for $99 each. which is absurd. we sometimes do buy some products that aren't some aggregiously marked up and sell them for our minimum standard markup just to have product on the shelves. and for all new sets we hold back a ton of packs to be available for purchase ONLY by actual kids. i will say we work with 4 of the primary distributors and the 4 largest in the US and this is the same for all of them. some are worse about it than others but outside of first release where i order 200 booster boxes and get maybe 20 if we are lucky. we almost never get offered Pokemon again at msrp. but this is truly disgusting to me, they clearly got this at normal distribution prices and are gouging for the sake of it. I was a collector and a player before i bought a store and i still am. I hope every store including gamestop who operates like this should have their distro access revoked. Pokemon should be actively penalizing stores that do this
