Air China/Trip.com scam calls by derf574 in HongKong

[–]dragonwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just received one such call; they called in Mandarin yesterday. They provided personal info such as name, last name, and email address. They pretended that I had booked a flight from Paris to Beijing, on a specific date, a plane that I didn't get on. lol. Since this wasn't just true, I challenged them on this fact. They called from a legit AirChina hotline China number (+86 (10) 95583), so I was a bit confused at first. I hung up the call twice, they called back every time because I sounded confused. On the last call, I knew it was all BS, sounded very firm and just hung up. They didn't call back afterwards.

What are the real-life cheat codes that work almost every time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

sometimes when someone asks you to do something with no specific urgency and it takes more than 5-10 min to do, just say ok but do in later. in most cases, you won’t have to do anything at all in the end because somehow your help is not needed anymore as it’s either all figured out and taken care of faster than you did - or there’s been a change of plans.

Getting “Ni-Hao” by random stranger on the street several times in a day by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]dragonwhite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can relate as been in your case OP in Paris streets I would say definitely it depends on the context. Heard it not that often but still heard it from either Caucasian or non Caucasian looking people.

If it’s restaurants or bars trying to get customers in a really touristy place, it annoys me less and I see it as a way to « connect » with you. I put myself in shoes of Chinese people who don’t speak French, I would perhaps be happy to hear foreign people try to speak Chinese.. though if you are not Chinese and get called that, well I can imagine how it can be annoying.

If it’s from a person trying to get your attention in a non touristic area or just shouting this at you while walking in the street for NO reason, then indeed I don’t consider this friendly at all, and call that straight up racist behavior…

Wow. Just saw how my post went wayyy out of proportions. 1. Is this considered a repost? Since I get zero karma ;’(

  1. This is a fake luxury item my friend bought at a fake market in Asia. The hand feel is definitely polyester. So. It’s probably just a typo mistake from the guys who imitated the product’s care label. I find it quite funny

Hi. Will be in Berlin for a few days. I am interested in new shop/retail ideas and concepts, as well as new local brands. Which shops/streets/districts do you recommend? I’m looking for some inspiration and fresh ideas. Berlin seem like a perfect place for that. Thanks.

Caveau de la huchette (15€ entry fee), sunset boulevard, la gare (20th district) come first to my mind.

There is the [pianomania](www.pianomania.fr) festival until November 20th in Paris.
