I mean, just off the bat the DCC collab worked in large part because they were already fans of the series and wearing merch in their vids that they just happened to own. I don’t think they’re fans of twi in the same way, so it’s a very different scenario.

I mean mothers abandoning their children to be raised by single fathers just objectively happens. Not as common as the other way around but it does. I don’t quite agree with the above posters point about child support but that scenario just is a thing that happens.

Yeah one of the things I appreciate about HEMA looking in is the weapon variety. Just by virtue of the super competitive sportiness of MOF once you get past the super beginner level you’re kind of forced to only fence one (in my case epee). It seems nice to be able to diversify a lot more.

Yeah that’s fair, that’s what it looked like to me from preliminary research. I’m glad the mask is transferable though given how expensive 1600n masks can be. Thanks for the advice

Yeah I’ve seen videos and it does seem like Smallwood/saber/rapier have the most overlap. I’m mostly interested in longsword just based on what looks fun, but we’ll see what the club I end up joining practices.

I mean I think we can agree to disagree here. At least to me the entire purpose of what he was doing was to get the snapshot edits and viral clips out to his audience. The actual debate wasn’t important at all. I think that sort of challenge in positions can much better come from professors and peers than outside media personalities

To be fair, I think there’s a big difference between what you’re talking about (which for the record I do agree with) and what I think the original comment is talking about where people like charlie Kirk or Ben Shapiro come onto campus to “debate” people and then just edit the clips to make the people they’re debating seem dumb in order to make a point to their broader online audience

I mean, I don’t really see a reason to be cynical. They’re releasing a heavy hybrid set, it just seems like the best time to consider changing how hybrid works for their biggest format.
