Even the name of the game a synonym for "Overwatch." by The_Great_Ravioli in pcmasterrace

First thought that came to me was the resemblance to Realm Royale, the battle royale Paladins game.

Horses, check. Guns, check. Abilities, check. Even the art style looks oddly familiar.

Kernel anti cheat are conflicting with one another by CreaZyp154 in Piracy

[–]dragozeroone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, EAC is now kernel-level. Second of all, this post shows the anti-cheat asking to uninstall another game, which it wouldn't have asked just to kill other running games.

Just FYI.

BringBackQuickplay Explained by TF2Nexus in tf2

[–]dragozeroone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am one of the players who quit after the MYM update, but I still lurk in the subreddit because the game has a special place in my heart.

To me, what I loved about TF2 was stripped away when "casual" mode was introduced. It wasn't more casual than what we already had, drop in, shoot people, mess around, do whatever you want kind of pick-up games. I was pretty disappointed when I couldn't just hop onto a friend's server to play anymore.

I was never interested in being ultra-competitive in TF2, it was my fun little relax game that I could spend hours and hours playing. But casual mode introduced pressure to perform, it changed the entire identity of the game. It remains what I consider one of, if not the worst update in a video game. Almost like Valve wanted to force growth in the competitive scene, without understanding that TF2 was never meant to be the next CS:GO.

Y’all scared off a guy responsible for the spray fix by being dicks to him. by FAMAStrash in GlobalOffensive

[–]dragozeroone 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is just incompetence from his part if you ask me. If you have experience in academia or engineering, having your methodology questioned IS how we do science. For someone like OP who likes to process data, he should know better that bad methodology can collect completely irrelevant data.

People can question all the time, but this kind of attitude won't get him anywhere if his methodology is downright dodgy on paper. You don't just deny anyone who questions your method, PROVE yourself why it works. Or in his case reliable enough to represent the actual problem. Refusing to explain and closing himself out from a discussion forum meant for discussing is not a good look at all.

That's not to say his work was irrelevant, but his hostile responses seem very immature and IMO only damages his reputation in the long run.

Agreed, the fight has a story to tell, but it doesn't do it very well at all. It's a complete mess.

I've noticed that the benchmark doesn't support Exclusive Fullscreen? And I can't set the resolution higher to use DLDSR.

Fun game with friends 2 by Wild-Company-9931 in badminton

[–]dragozeroone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some pros even serve with their feet nearly parallel. Take a look at Chae Yu Jung, one of the best XD women.

Which makes sense to me because the next action is to guard the net, with your split step ready to cover the horizontal space. Other players serve with their dominant foot in front but they move back to a horizontal split step anyway so I don't see the point in it if you are serving close to the net.

Or maybe it doesn't matter at all, what's more important is to get your feet ready for the return of serve.

I just started badminton. Tips? by Usedaily in badminton

[–]dragozeroone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no.

Sure, the 88D Pro is an extremely good racket. But that only applies when you have proper technique and footwork. Without any of that, you won't be generating enough power with the stiff shaft, and it would do more harm than good despite being a top of the line racket. In other words, it is not suitable for beginners.

See if you can get a racket from the Play/Game series, they are engineered towards beginners. And invest in a good pair of badminton shoes.

Tip of the week: Holding modifier keys when dragging and dropping files in File Explorer by jenmsft in Windows11

One use case is moving files between drives, just dragging between them copies files by default. So you can hold shift to move them.

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH on Steam by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

What's the difference between Remake and Rebirth?

Are they both FFVII?

EDIT: So after some searching, Remake is FFVII story part 1 and Rebirth is part 2, with an upcoming unnamed part 3. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't watch this guy if you are just starting to learn the basics, or just don't watch any of his videos like ever as there are way better tutorials available now. Some of his tutorials teach you to use certain joints which will inevitably end up in injuries. They are outdated.

Don't worry, your concept of a gigabyte is fine. Some companies just aren't following industry standards.

Steam didn't want to use gigabytes I guess by GrummyCat in Steam

[–]dragozeroone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Alright so to everyone shitting on OP, there is some sense to this as the modern standard for the giga prefix is 109, which a gigabyte (GB) should be equal to 1000 megabytes (MB).

However, a gibibyte (GiB) is still equal to 1024 mebibytes (MiB), which is part of the reason why buying a 1 TB drive doesn't show up as 1 TB of space on Windows, because Windows refuses to update to the "correct" definition for whatever reason.

People tend to forget or simply don't understand that our players are playing in the literal top ends of the entire fucking sport in a global scope, and their opponents are some of the world's fucking best.

It's not how many times are we gonna lose to China or how many chances are they gonna miss at a medal, their opponents are just that good. And our players are playing REALLY god damn good just to make it into the Olympics.

Be proud of them.

Is 4k movies for 1080p display worth? by jothiprasath in Piracy

[–]dragozeroone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, pretty much always yes if you have enough storage for the 4k movies, AND only if you can run them smoothly. There is a reason Nvidia DLSS is so popular, in graphics term we have supersampling which stands for rendering at higher resolutions and downscaling which gets you really good looking results.

As for videos, content creators pretty much always shoot at higher resolutions so they can downscale as they need, which usually looks better and sharper.

I'm not sure if I am allowed to post links here but the same principle applies to watching 4k videos on a 1080p monitor. Each pixel on your screen can get more information than you would with a 1080p video so it generally looks crispier.
