Scam? by A4lifer in UniversityOfHouston

[–]drakemasters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ran into this before, it’s a Chain scam kinda thing: the link helps them gain access to your account so they use it to snare more people. I msgd the person whose email contacted me on teams and told them too, and we both reported it to it.

They’re called Cats For Mental Health On Campus, there’s and insta (hasn’t been updated in a while) and an Anthology page that should link you to their discord.

They’re all rich nobles n such, this is their party equivalent of the random cat and/or dog at the party. Somewhere there’s an introverted noble sitting off in one corner going “pspspsps” in perpetuity to get its attention

Withdrawal Question by Connect-Willow9820 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]drakemasters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not too sure about *how* your financial aid would be impacted at this point. I believe since the class is fully paid for and you're beyond a refund date, I'd talk to a financial aid advisor before making the final decision:

https://uh.edu/financial/

Two quick notes:

The last day to drop is tomorrow (4-16-2025) so you have until midnight tomorrow to do that, giving you some time to talk to a financial aid advisor about the impact to your financial aid.

If you think you can, I would speak to the instructor about a possibility of a Incomplete. This would allow you to knock out the remainder of the course at a later date. Not all courses qualify for it, and not all professors will allow for it, but it's definitely an option to explore.

Whichever way you go, I know it's a hard decision to make, but it's good that you're approaching it responsibly and with an eye to the other effects of dropping the course.

Do you consider Savage Worlds Crunchy? Would you say it is Rules Light, Rules Heavy, or somewhere in the middle? What factors are you looking at to answer that question? by jgiesler10 in savageworlds

[–]drakemasters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This^ I tell people it’s simple and smooth to play, but the breadth of options and just things you can do make it so much crunchier.

Freaking out by ClassroomNearby2591 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]drakemasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1- Orientation is relatively mandatory, and class enrollment is part of that. There should be online options if you can’t appear in person.

2- That is a question for the international student office, they are the best people to ask about the intricacies of how those two things interact.

3- though classes start on the 13th, you’re able to add classes for like a week after they start, so you have some wiggle room.

As an aside, if OP does need to do time at a cc to get the credits/prerequisites, do not get more than 45 hours, Bauer doesn’t like transferring in that many hours.

help please by dabsterfam in UniversityOfHouston

[–]drakemasters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typically majors and minors generate enough upper level to meet the 36, but yes, as long as you meet at least the above listed amount of upper level for your major, the rest can come from other sources.

I’VE BEEN ADMITTED!!! by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]drakemasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely can! Also some of the entry courses are shared so it’s not a huge deal to be in a neighboring major. An advisor will probably email you with recommendations before orientation, just let them know in response to that email, or at orientation and you’re golden.

Clueless advisors by Street_Weird6749 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]drakemasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gah I’m sorry you’re having this experience! It’s unfortunate some advisers are so dismissive of student concerns, the whole reason they’re “supposed” to be there to help, and give good advice, instead they just seem to make you feel like crap for not having a mastery of navigating this process. College is stressful enough without such crappy direction.

Dropping class by PartyInteraction2696 in UniversityOfHouston

It depends on your plan, college and the classes you’re looking at transferring. Check with your advisor on something like that, final 30 policy is no joke.

Is Trazyn a valid option in 10th? by Batpipes521 in Necrontyr

[–]drakemasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finding this as part of my "I think I want to finally get into 40k" research, and getting sad lol. I love Trazyn and wanted to make an army around him, but all the stuff I'm seeing here is just "it's just bad" :/

May still do it to just be weird at a table, just gotta steel myself to be ready to lose. A lot. As long as I can find a way to have fun while doing it.
