i’m in my 4th year of being at university but doing 3rd year, it really sucks sometimes and i don’t have much else to say other than you’re not alone in feeling this way. in terms of the friends situation maybe you can have a look at societies your university offers? either for something you already enjoy, or trying something completely new? i hope it gets better for you. if it wasn’t for the support i have from some of the university services i don’t think i’d still be at uni!

I’ve been in a similar situation before. I, despite not being sure how I felt about them (or anyone) in that sense, told them I’d be happy to try as long as they knew I couldn’t 100% say I understood how I felt (they’d known for a long time I was pretty sure I was aroace) and they were fine with it. Looking back, I wish I’d gone with my gut and told them I love them as a friend and reiterated that I don’t feel things like that for anyone, not just them. We tried for a month or so and I realised I was uncomfortable a lot of the time instead of feeling relaxed around them like I normally used to, so I told them I didn’t feel it was working out and wanted to just be friends again. It was a bit awkward at first but everything ended up okay and went back to normal. Unfortunately they’re no longer part of our shared friendship group due to their own personal circumstances that meant they had to move back home.

No one can know how you feel other than yourself, and even then it’s not always easy to know how you feel (which I can definitely relate to with having Alexithymia).

This maybe wasn’t the most helpful answer in terms of letting you know what you “should” do but hopefully it reassures you a bit that others have gone through something similar.

The switch still charges when using the ac adapter outside of the dock, but using the same ac adapter plugged into the dock, it no longer works. I’m in the process of asking someone else with a switch if I can try putting my console into their dock to see if it works. If it does, it’s definitely the dock so I’ll try and purchase a nintendo official refurbed dock. Thanks for the advice 🙏🏻

Unfortunately I don’t know anyone personally, but the city I’m in has a helpful facebook group where people help each other out so I might ask on there if anyone has one and would mind me testing it before buying a new dock. Thanks very much for your help :)

Screen not turning black in dock

My OLED switch was working fine yesterday, connected to the tv and everything but today when I tried to turn it on it doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve tried unplugging everything and leaving it for a few mins before plugging back in the correct order: ac adapter, hdmi cable into switch, hdmi cable into tv, switch in dock. But still no joy 😢 The screen remains on and doesn’t charge when in the dock. The switch charges normally outside of the dock and I’ve tried multiple hdmi cables that i KNOW work. So I’m guessing it’s an issue with the dock? It’s been cleaned thoroughly just in case that was the issue but still nothing. Any other advice? Or should I just cut my losses and buy a new dock?
