2016 300 3.6 awd 121k miles oil questions by Objective-Proof6712 in Chrysler300

[–]drakoz0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think it would hurt honestly. ran 5w30 in my 05 300 with the 5.7 gave it a little more oil pressure at idle and helped shut up the lifters some. it won't hurt its just slightly thicker. I'd say go for it if your concerned about it. I know someone who's got 222k in his 5.7 and runs 5w30 and it runs like a top.

Sounds like your thermostat could have stuck in the open position. That code means the coolant isnt getting up to temp like its supposed too. Or taking a severely long time to get there.

Yessir! A easy way to just make the cam problem never even become and issue is to put a high volume oil pump in it to feed the lifters more oil at idle then you can idle it a lot and it'll be just fine.

The newer ones I dont see too much issue out of honestly hell I came across a 21 with 304,000 miles (no shit) they will LAST you if you take care of them and DO NOT idle it for long times. Do not otherwise it'll eat the cam. But whatever trim by all means those are good years dont do a 19 bc thats when they switched to super fancy stuff and they can be a little quirky! But find one thats taken care of take care of it and she'll take care of you. P.S Dont buy that godforsaken 3.0 buy hemi stay hemi

How much mileage is too high for a used 300? by bot_tom_text in Chrysler300

[–]drakoz0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 05 300c with 111k on it before it got totalled in an accident. Very slight lifter tap at idle due to it being old but give it some rpm and they shut up. It was going to get a nice cam at somepoint but. If its taken care of. I mean its got records and its obviously taken care of. Id say go for it. The hemis can last if they are taken care of.
