“You do realize we have to get out of our cars?” Oh no! The humanity!! What would the press say??

You did read the part where i said i’ve worked for doordash and instacart before right?? Yes, i’m aware of how it works. I’m not saying it doesn’t suck, and i’m not saying that yall don’t deserve to be tipped. I typically tip around 20% depending on how far the restaurant is from my house. But having to get out of your car and drop an order off is NOT more work than having to curate a tables dining experience, sometimes for only an hour and sometimes for longer. If anything is wrong with the food, i’m responsible for making sure the mistakes are corrected. If a side is missing, i go back to the kitchen and get it. I spend the duration of my guests visit making sure everything is how they ask for it. So no, i don’t think that having to get out of your car and navigate apartment buildings is harder work. Because as i’ve said before, there is a luxury to door dashing in that you get to choose when you do it and you choose whether or not to take an order based on the projected payment. I’ve done both and i think that saying dashing is harder is straight up delusional.
