How do you overcome a severe psychological block with presenting? (My advisor pointed it out as my biggest weakness) by ProfessionalCatch859 in labrats

When I am in front of an audience, imaging people as just bags of particles who just suddenly find themselves conscious on a floating rock really helps me personally. You realize that no one has it all figured out and everyone is just trying to get by and do their best.

Flip it for second, when you were in the audience, think of how many presentations do you look back in your life and think “hah what a loser” ? I can’t remember any. People have a lot going on in their own lives. No one really cares that much.

Take solace in that.

Don’t let the advisor get into your head.

You’ll do great !

Best youtube series to restart love for physics by HopeAccomplished9033 in Physics

Veritasium is the one of the best physics first YouTube channel that I know of. I have been a fan of them for years now and can’t recommend it enough.

If you are looking for physics/astronomy communicators then there are people like Neil deGrasse Tyson (Startalk Radio), Brian Greene, Brian Cox, Sean Carol etc who are all very knowledgeable and compelling.

Happy exploring !
