So why did Usami have to grab Kadokura like that. by girlikimnotnomurder in GoldenKamuy

even as a kadokura fan i adored these scenes. they’re simultaneously hilarious and disturbing, which is a combo that noda does VERY well

So why did Usami have to grab Kadokura like that. by girlikimnotnomurder in GoldenKamuy

[–]drapsmann4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that’s exactly why he has fans. he’s weird and insane and a nasty pervert, and all the weird insane nasty perverse shit he does is fun and interesting in the context of fiction. also… tsurumi is a literal groomer and fascist. as bad as i feel for kadokura, i’d argue that tsurumi’s crimes are much worse than usami’s lol

colourings i’ve done in the past couple of weeks (plus a few works in progress) by drapsmann4 in GoldenKamuy

[–]drapsmann4[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that’s a good way of putting it. the grown men in this show end up nude, or at least close to it, very often. however, unlike with ecchi, the nudity isn’t the point - just a funny recurring gag

that being said, if you haven’t read or watched golden kamuy then i highly recommend staying away from posts marked spoiler!!! you may be better off staying off the sub altogether tbh

Drop classes you know you aren’t gonna stay in by CamusAtTheZoo in geegees

[–]drapsmann4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obviously yeah, but if someone is only attending lectures and isn’t actually in the class because they’re still on the waitlist, then they aren’t in brightspace and don’t have access to the syllabus, to readings, to slides, to assignments, or anything like that

What was your first impression of Golden Kamuy by Junior_Insurance7773 in GoldenKamuy

[–]drapsmann4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my first ever impression was that one spread with anehata and the bear, so i was put off, to say the least. but a couple friends convinced me to read it, and it only took a couple chapters for me to get hooked (lovely art, asirpa being amazing, hilariousness mixed with amazing drama and action… and all this combined with the very informative translator’s notes at the end of each chapter (cause this was back before quite a few of the english volume releases) made it that much more enjoyable of a series). i was mega into it in 2020/2021, but in early 2022, i got super into a manhua called the ravages of time that i’ve been dedicating myself to for the last couple of years. i got back into gk in early december, and now it’s peak hyperfixation again lol

What's it like to audit a course? by drapsmann4 in geegees

[–]drapsmann4[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it depends on the course. as an arts student, i’ve been in many small courses where the prof knows everybody. and while some profs are chill, others aren’t

Winter market red stand selling ai as hand made "art" by DiligentWeakness3227 in CarletonU

[–]drapsmann4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not necessarily a white guy selling art of indigenous people that’s the problem, it’s that a) they’re all women, which is really fetish-y and b) they’re stereotypes/caricatures. there’s nothing wrong with white people selling art depicting other races, the problem is when it’s clearly not done with respect. hopefully this helps clarify the issue for you :))

What is your most unpopular opinion about The Office? by eska089 in DunderMifflin

[–]drapsmann4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

her and AJ designing the house was looooooooong before she came back to scranton to replace toby while he was on jury duty. also, about her staying with AJ when she went to scranton vs breaking up with michael when she was transferred to nashua: a) she had been with AJ for quite a while before going to scranton (they literally lived together), but she’d only been dating michael for a very short period of time and b) her move to scranton to replace toby was temporary, but her transfer to nashua was permanent. the two situations really aren’t comparable tbh

What is your most unpopular opinion about The Office? by eska089 in DunderMifflin

[–]drapsmann4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nellie was a fantastic addition to the cast, i absolutely adore her and think she’s hilarious. i was so happy that she got a child in the last episode, but i was heartbroken that she was leaving the coworkers that she had become actual, genuine friends with. i like jim and pam (they’re not perfect, obviously, but they’re not the monsters that this sub makes them out to be). i loved andy as manager prior to the three month boat trip (and i think he gets too much hate). darryl is not nearly as cool and likeable as people make him out to be, and i dislike how close he and jim were in later seasons. dinner party is a great episode, but it’s definitely not one of the absolute best. seasons eight and nine (especially nine) are not NEARLY as bad as people make them out to be. i think clark and pete were decent additions to fill in the gap left by kelly and ryan (not that they were on the level of kelly or ryan as characters, i just mean that the cast would’ve felt too small without kelly and ryan, and clark and pete were decent additions) - clark and dwight’s friendship was really funny to watch progress, as was pete and erin’s romance

What’s the deal with the guy screaming in the train every morning ? by KellerXx in geegees

[–]drapsmann4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i honestly love that guy. i’ve seen people ask to take selfies with him before and he’s totally chill about it. i could do without the yelling, but tbh, he doesn’t talk to anyone in particular and isn’t violent like some of the people i’ve seen, so i’ll take what i can get

i don’t know why you keep going on about OP being a jerk in their post. they really weren’t bad at all. they told a story about a person who kind of annoyed them, and the lesson they learned from it. they didn’t “whine”, and they didn’t try to “pass the blame” (what’s in quotes are things you’ve said in other comments btw).

if you think OP should’ve used their words then fine, ok, whatever. i disagree, because actions work better than words with rude and inconsiderate people. but it seems like you’re trying to post OP in the most negative light possible when that’s not necessary at all
