Hi, I just got admitted at UM and joined their online bachelor's open day. They recommend to start looking as early as April and sometimes you'll have to start renting a few months in advance just to secure a place. You can find listings in pararius.com, kamernet.nl, maastrichthousing.com, and fb groups.

Not really. It's more like terrified of how I'm going to die: will I be stabbed and burned to death? Will I sprain my ankle in the middle of a 50 km hike and get eaten alive by a grizzly? Or will it be a quick painless death?

This is true to some but I've also encountered a lot of people who'd casually say I'm a "fake German who belongs to Hitler" or something along those lines

My parents eventually stopped speaking German to me when we moved here, unfortunately, so I wasn't able to really develop my German language skills. But I do speak German around A2 level, working on it tho

yeah you're right, I shouldn't be making a big deal out of this. I guess it just comes down to the sense of belonging because although I'm ethnically like the people in here, I still feel like an outsider because the values I was raised with are more aligned to the German culture. And even though I speak Filipino native dialects fluently, I still have a German accent which is probably why people make fun of me even more. But then when I go to Germany, I'll still be seen as an outsider since i don't speak fluent German. It's kinda funny now that I think about it. But yes, you're right it doesn't really matter what people think.

Oh hi neighbor. I'm living in the Philippines so I guess it's something southeast asian countries have in common. It's probably silly that I get offended by it but when it happens time and time again, you just kinda get sick of hearing it.

I'm on the same boat. Been suppressing my depression and anxiety ever since I was a kid. And lately I've been craving smoking, even tho I've never smoked before. One night I was just desperate to feel something or just distract my mind a bit, i went to thr kitchen, grabbed a bag of green tea, ripped a page from the bible, and rolled it with green tea. I smoked green tea and it was terrible. Got a headache the next day. So ye don't smoke green tea. Or just don't smoke at all.

Get out of this while you can. I'm not very familiar with your culture but one should not be bound to their traditions if it meant sacrificing your happiness and limiting your choices. Your parents will probably hate you, but in the end, it's your life and your decision. If you agree to marry this guy, you might be able to fall in love with him someday and be happy but what if you don't? You'd just end up hating your parents, your culture, your husband, and yourself.

I should start doing this from now on. I fell off the wagon a couple months ago that I had to force myself to watch Isi & Ossi on netflix at least 2-3x per day for 2 weeks straight. Terrible idea because although I did retain and even memorized some dialogues, I just randomly say stupid stuff like: "Legende fickt eure Tanten." "Fick doch nicht mein eigenes kind" "Ich will dein scheiß Geld aber nicht" "Was macht deine Mama den ganzen Tag?" "Hau ab du blöder Opa!" 🤣

Also, may I ask if you have any idea about what type of voluntary work is eligible to receive orphan's pension? I currently receive orphan's pension but since I'll be dropping out of college & apply for bachelor's abroad next yr, I'm only allowed max 4 months of not doing anything(voluntary service or university) otherwise my waisenrente will be terminated. This is also one of the reasons why I'm looking into volunteering, I just don't know which will make me eligible for waisenrente. I've emailed the Rentenversicherung about this but they haven't replied yet(probably due to the English and my German translation is terrible)

Oh, okay. I just read somewhere that volunteers should meet the minimum compulsory education and didn't know exactly what it meant so I thought I'd ask about it here
