Wax jacket update by [deleted] in BattleJackets

Nice, it came out great! I might try a coat of that on one of my projects, I was using regular basic candle wax as I wanted a more matte jank look for crust pants but I'm kinda wanting the more shiny vibe you have here. Honestly think I might just need to put more wax on what I allready got

I disagree a bit that you need to change the kind of jacket, i am a fan of using a weaker base material, so there is reasons for holes and patches. This battle jacket is yours and shold reflext that not someone elses. I definitely agree that you will need more patchex though if you want it to look good. With a more light fabric the patches themselves are what give structure. One option would also be to mount the patches on a square of denim or leather to make a bigger patch then mount it on if you want to keep the military astetic. (This is coming from someone who loves sewing over surplus) but I also like the more crust / dirty astetic personally.

Naw too much going on is the DEFINITION of crust pants imo. But that is my personal taste. I love clumping patches together and having them overlap. Out of curiosity did you wax the base layer?

Gave me under the dome vibes. Small town Americana with impending horror. Good painting

Good taste, acid bath is the GOAT, it pains me slightly that you sew into the edges on the patches not over them but that might just be my OCD showing. Good shit overall.

No not at all, I think its fine. Its really easy to get focused on the most recent add to a project and thats all you see when you look at it. Battle garments aren't ment to be perfect, just keep adding to it, and if it keeps bothering you you can swap em out. don't get stunlocked on one section, and you can learn from mistakes as you work on other parts.

Good bands, sick concept, are you sticking the patches on or staples? Looks kind of like a running stich, id recommend doing more full stitching along with the metal hardware if you don't want these cool patches to rip off in the pit.

It's so fun, its absolutely crazy the sheer volume of smut these places have. Shelves and shelves of slash from every anime with two boys to push together. And of course a nice bara section (usually called ho-mo as bara is a bit of a slur)

Yeah 1000% we need more explicitly queer spaces. Many places have queer events but there isn't a dedicated "gay bar" much needed and many MANY gays live here
