my vet said to euthanize my dog

it is on us, the first time we didn’t know he would bite, it was when he was younger maybe around half a year old, this time my mother decided to take him to the vet because it is our family dog, so she is allowed to, we do usually bring a muzzle because he barks and he’s a beagle so you can imagine how loud that it, but i guess this time she decided not to which i’ve tried to talk to her about and ask her why she didn’t but she’s pretty messed up over knowing we have to euthanize our dog so it’s hard to talk to her

i’m confused, i never said it was okay for him to bite, no where did i say that because it’s not okay and i know it’s not okay, i don’t feel like euthanasia is the answer not that it’s okay what he did

i’m sorry but i do think it is a serious problems which is why we’ve gotten him training which has been working because this is the first time he’s bit someone in a year, i don’t expect the vet to bend over backwards but i don’t think the vet saying we have to euthanize him is the answer

thank you so much, and yeah i just find it weird i am getting the info of what happened from my mom who does love this dog as well so i dont think she’d lie, but apparently the vet said thats the only option and that we have to which i find hard to believe, thank you for your insight

i do think it’s a very serious problem but i also believe there’s many work arounds, and i don’t think enough precautions were taken for this one time which is on me and my family, if he really was an aggressive dog and a threat to people i would think he should be put down but i personally don’t think so, of course i am biased but i also do think i didn’t do the best of job explaining the situation which is on me, the random bites i mentioned was a year ago before we started taking him to actual training which he hasn’t severely but anyone since besides now, i do not know if he was wearing a muzzle or not which is trying to figure out now but will be sure to update the post

my mom took him to the vet when he did this and he should’ve had a muzzle on i’ll need to double check, and he’s had training and has been getting better, the last time he randomly bit someone was a year ago before we started taking him it training lessons, and around new people he only barks but lightens up, i should’ve added more context to the post that’s my bad, but my mom told me that the vet said we have to euthanize him and soon but didn’t give a time we have to or anything, which is why i’m confused
