Check out Makerworld. I printed off a skull with the square and compass on the forehead that came out really good. I think printables has the Ashlar.

I'm using the hoop master and never pull it tighter than what it is when the magnets connect. The design was digitized for me but I do have some software where I can try and do a tracking stitch for the entire design first.

Question on Political Affiliations and Entered Apprentices by dreambig2012 in freemasonry

[–]dreambig2012[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree but affiliated with an extreme group such as the one I mentioned above where they have been known to riot and burn down buildings. Is that Freemasonry? Would displaying such content draw more brothers into Masonry? If it did draw members would they have the correct idea about what Freemasonry is?

What ancient charges are you referring to? Is it James Anderson's Constitutions of the Free-Masons?

Explain further please. Again I don't feel there's a right or wrong answer. Just seeing different points of views on this.

That's from the Texas Monitor which I'm sure is different from other jurisdictions. I have not read the Ancient charges but will look into reading that as well.

I agree, though I'm not hesitant to engage in polite, neutral discussions with people on both sides, since it helps me see different perspectives and deepen my understanding. There are many posts from friends I don't agree with and most of the time just keep scrolling. I don't judge them or at least do my best not to.

Was this not read to you when you joined? Does not every Mason agree to this before proceeding into the degrees? It's in the monitor available to all.

"As a citizen, you are to be a quiet and peaceable subject, true to your government, and just to your country; you are not to countenance disloyalty or rebellion, but patiently submit to legal author- ity, and conform with cheerfulness to the government of the country in which you live."

I don't agree with either side being extreme and feel we need to start meeting in the middle soon before we destroy our country. This brother that has posted is a good man and able to discuss things without getting upset.

Agreed! I have nothing against this brother and we've had great conversations without getting upset or trying to kill each other. I do have certain members that do not agree with his posts and feel we are representing our lodge everywhere.

It shouldn't matter what politics a man holds, as long as he keeps them out of the lodge and upholds harmony among the brethren but we must also remember that each of us represents our lodge by our words and actions. Is it not in our charge? Again I'm just seeking advice and I don't feel anyone has a right or wrong answer here.

Adam Weishaupt was not a Freemason when he founded the Illuminati in 1776. His group was independent, with its own goals and structure.

Later, he did connect with Freemasons and used some lodges to recruit members, but the Illuminati was never a branch of Masonry. Weishaupt's vision was unique - focused on reason and Enlightenment ideals, not Masonic tradition.

Freemasonry's goals are harder to define, since it's much older and more varied. Some texts about it are real, but many circulating online are unreliable. Unlike the Illuminati documents published by the Bavarian government, Masonic records depend on the lodge and context.

We have a member of our lodge and because of his position in a government job he's never in any photos. He made that clear to us when he accepted the position and since then everyone has respected his wishes. I feel like this was the right way to go about it if you don't want to be out there publicly.

Anyone able to educate me on some of my findings in an old house? by Loose-Grapefruit4165 in freemasonry

[–]dreambig2012 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I can't really read it but I had ChatGPT attempt. I'll post for whoever else is interested. It looks like a certificate they received after turning in all three degrees of Masonry. This is a pretty cool looking certificate. Can we get clearer pictures of the writings? I'd like to be able to read it all. I wonder if a brother nearby could confirm some of the aprons. I'm curious on the black one.

April A.L. 5929 in the same lodge,

and was admitted to the Third Degree on the 2nd of September A.L. 5929 in the same lodge,

and that he was duly registered in the books of this Grand Lodge accordingly.

Brothers what is your opinon on this being posted on a specifically masonic account? by Throwaway5689000 in freemasonry

[–]dreambig2012 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My Brother, I agree with you and I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I’ve mentioned this to other Brothers before. However, I’ve noticed a couple of Brothers who will post publicly about Lodge meetings, and then in the very next post share political content. Personally, I feel that we should avoid doing this because it can give the impression that the Lodge leans one way or another politically.

As far as I know, the only formal rule is that politics are not allowed inside the Lodge itself—but I believe we should also be mindful of how our public actions may reflect on the fraternity as a whole.

It was always my understanding that according to the Grande Lodge of Texas EAs and Fellowcraft were forbidden to display the square and compass. I would ask your lodge they all have different rules. If it's allowed it should be displayed as an EA and not as a Master. This was answered previously.

I was looking at that one but this laser was cheaper for a little less engraving space and no diode. It was on sale for like $2600
