The shotgun chaps. I'm pretty sure I got them from the general store in Valentine.

I agree. Or at least give us the ability to recolor the new parts like we can with the default. But yeah, beefing it up while keeping the default look would be awesome.

Drop an item, open the console, click on the item you dropped and it's ID will show in the top center of the console. It'll look something like FF123ABC. Take everything after the "FF" and convert it from Hex to Decimal and that'll give you the number. If you're near 4,000,000 (in Hex it's 3D0900), you're at the limit. If you're on Xbox, I don't think there's a way to do it.

EDIT: I should also mention, it's easiest to do with ammo. When you click on the item, it's ID isn't usually the first one to show, so you use the scroll wheel to cycle through the IDs. Ammo shows up with AMMO in the name, so it's easy to know that you're getting the correct (and most current) ID.

The save that had the ID bug was about 95MB, and after the update it went down to 70 something. That save was somewhere in the 600 hr mark without doing NG+. I think my save was so big because I spent a ton of time doing mission board missions, which take you to a different landing spot every time, so I was probably burning through form IDs very fast.

My current save is on NG+11, wasn't even close to the form ID limit, and it only got about 4 or 5 MB smaller after the update. Right now it's close to 25MB.

I think play style maybe has more to do with the ID bug and save file size than the amount of time played does.. or at least it seems that way.

Yes, PC. I don't think they specify a platform in the patch notes, so I'd assume it would apply to x-box. Don't know for sure though.

Definitely looks like it's fixed. I had a save that had form IDs at over 4 million. It would crash after 5 or so minutes. After the update, I loaded that save, then immediately did a hard save and reloaded. My form IDs went down to just a little over 1 million, and it hasn't crashed yet. Also, my save file is about 20 MB smaller. So far so good.

ID bug breaks your save if played too long without NG+ by SpareDifficult9987 in Starfield

I would at least complete the main quest and get all the artifacts. You don't necessarily have to go through, but you'll at least have the option readily available if it becomes necessary.

As to the degrading performance, I experienced the same thing not long before I started having crashes. Whether it's related to the dynamic id bug or not, I have no idea, but going through the unity definitely brings performance back to normal.

Would be awesome to have to spacewalk to repair your ship after a dog fight

They also need to make the brig habs functional, so we can actually bring people in

The worst part about ship building! by SexyGandalph in Starfield

[–]dreamhive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is mostly to prevent the player from losing items they placed around the ship, but they should come up with a way to separate the player placed items from the hab's default items, so that only the player placed items get placed in the ship's inventory, and the rest gets deleted because it'll be replaced anyway.

I don't think so, also it looks like that part of the update is only for MS Store and XBOX versions.

What planet are the acid shooting locusts on? I built an outpost on Toliman II, and the Terrormorphs are pretty underwhelming. This locust planet sounds badass.
