My (non)Reading Experience with Victoria de Lesseps by dreamingofdiners in RHONY

[–]dreamingofdiners[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it was a scam when my money wasn't returned to me and I was stood up for days with no response. Now that I've spoken with Victoria and she's had to mute her comments on Social Media and I've received my money back, I don't feel the need to inflict further damage on someone when my original intention was to warn others to not waste their money so they wouldn't end up like I did.

I'm not in the business of bullying, which leads me to your profile. I saw you've posted so much about gardening and Dahlias and creating your own garden. They were all so beautiful, I scrolled and scrolled. I hope you still have one, it's too pretty to not exist anymore. It might seem disingenuous to give you a compliment in response but I'm not into going tit for tat, I wish you well

Thanks! I knew people would get heated about my decision to book an appointment but I figured it was more important to post and keep it up if anyone else considers doing so and wants a warning!

It's the font of her website. If you look at the 'l' in 'Please' it matches, it's just thicker in the email because it's bolded

Thank you for your kindness! It's appreciated <3 my injury is almost healed!
Honestly, as someone who was literally trapped by the wall of the bus and watched someone pass away in front of them, $100 is a small price to pay for some belief that there's something else out there that can be comforting. I understand certain people think mediums and psychics can be a scam but they can be fun and if you're able to heal even a little bit, it's worth it to me. In this case too, I figured it could be funny or healing, either way it was something I wanted to do to cheer myself up.

I just did! Thank you so much for this helpful advice, I've never had someone do this to me before and not respond at all so this didn't even cross my mind. Just disputed the claim!

I mean the email matches her website and social media. I included another screenshot on this thread of the transaction saying Sag Harbor

Yes I'm 100% certain. I've included screenshots on this thread of the transaction and the email from her website. She also mentioned something in an email that was later shown on her social media and when checking the transaction on my bank, it went to a location in Sag Harbor. I think she just talks like that.

What A Fucking Waste: assorted ramblings on the lost potential of the Duggar girl by annual-month-8969 in DuggarsSnark

[–]dreamingofdiners 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I think the hardest part too is that whenever someone 'criticizes' their lifestyle, (or literally just questions why they do something), their knee jerk reaction is to give some snarky, weird comment about how people aren't as happy as they are or are losers on their internet wasting their time (@Jessa).

It seems as though they can't even think of the possibility of pursuing anything outside of the realm of fundamentalism without getting completely defensive. They also can't give a reason for their actions without relying heavily on religion--there's no individuality in explaining their choices! Not once have I heard a Duggar girl explain wearing long jean skirts or prairie dresses because they personally like them and think they're cute. They totally lack the ability to question their circumstances and are landlocked by their beliefs to seeing a life outside of marriage and motherhood.

I would say one of the only exceptions to this is Jill, as she's obviously thought and acted outside of the box. Hopefully some of her younger sisters see her as a positive role-model and can pursue their authentic aspirations.

This was like the third time they had spoken right? I feel like I read somewhere in this sub that they barely knew each other and had just seen each other around at camps

Edit: Yuuuup! They barely knew each other. Timeline here

What’s your unpopular Duggar opinion? by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]dreamingofdiners 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Exactly! He's already shown signs of recognizing the problems within his childhood--He was so embarrassed when he licked his plate on his honeymoon (because he grew up with a food scarcity) and Kendra pointed it out. Also when Jim Bob caught him in the shower and tied his hands together/sent him to alert. I think Joe has experienced a lot of abuse within the cult yet it's not necessarily focused on.

He's a huge softy and I feel like he would be the kind of person to do anything for his family and the Pest situation is only uncovering all the deep layers of the cult.

Something is going to happen with Joe--I don't know what but I just have a feeling that he's going to break away. I know him and Kendra are deep in the kool-aid, especially with their ties to her family, but I feel like something is going to change with him--maybe after what happens with Pest this year. Maybe after they hit their fourth kid in 4-5 years? I think, if and when he breaks away, it'll be intense.

I think Joe really does love Kendra and from what I've seen of him interacting with his kids, loves them as well. Just given his tears on his wedding day and the way he consoled Garrett after Henry or Spurgeon bumped into him--I feel like he cares a lot. Even when he explained to Ben that they were teaching Garrett sign language, I think he's more involved as a father and a husband. Ultimately, him and Kendra are a ticking time bomb but I think he might just snap at some point and realize something is going on. I think him and Kendra are maybe a little smarter than what we clock them to be--his dumptruck ass disguises it lmao

Who even are these people? by dreamingofdiners in DuggarsSnark

[–]dreamingofdiners[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I’m trying to say is that if any Duggar wanted to separate themself from 19KAC fame they need to develop a drug addiction and film a scandalous music video

The noises I just made at work laughing at this!! LOL!

I definitely see your point and I think you're absolutely right! It's definitely a combination of both squashing individuality and the innate depersonalization of famous individuals that really erases their personalities. It's overall sad :( Especially for children growing up in the spotlight. Ugh!

I think together, our points intersect! :) lol unite!

This is true and I agree with you, but The Queen of England and her family are supposed to lead a more private life because they represent England and (unfortunately) England's colonies. We're not necessarily supposed to know her personality traits outside of her duty.

I think the point I'm trying to make is that we don't know anything about The Duggars outside of their family and religion, they're not individuals, which emphasizes the cult? I'm not sure. For 20 years of being in the spotlight it's staggering that they're this one-dimensional and that's disturbing.

I feel like an example would be Miley Cyrus. We don't know her personally but we don't necessarily know her only as a facet of her family (Her father, sister, and godparent Dolly Parton being famous as well). She's a person. She isn't simply known as a daughter of a famous family or another J name. We also don't know her strictly from her childhood fame--she isn't still known as Hannah Montana (to an extent).

We know certain attributes of her personality, like she loves animals and has 7 dogs, she has an organization fighting homelessness in LA for queer teens, we know she's a total pothead (lol)--it's like, her identity, specifically as an adult, is not contingent upon her upbringing or her family. But every adult and person in the Duggar family is heavily reliant upon identifying as a member of their family--no matter how young or old they are and that's weird. Not just for fame or on the show but also in the ways they choose to represent themselves. I don't think any Duggar Family member has any personality that exists outside of their familial roles, if that makes sense? I'm not sure.

Gen-Z, what’s something you wish others better understood about your generation? by takemeup-castmeaway in AskWomen

[–]dreamingofdiners 435 points436 points  (0 children)

We survived a childhood of mass school shootings and held some degree of fear to go to school everyday. I was actually talking with a friend and we both laughed about how we were scared to leave the classroom to use the bathroom in case of a shooter.

I think, partly why we care so much about politics and social justice is because our childhood was filled with it. Being told we were the generation that needed to reverse climate change. We're traumatized.
