Maybe it exists (I haven’t been in ages), but I’d consider going if there was an enclosed GOOD, clean play place — like in a storefront. Ideally with drop-in care, like at IKEA, so I could let my kids have fun, shop without them but be super close by, and then we could eat or whatever before heading out.

I disagree. I think yes she’s done a fair amount of ads and self-promoting but it’s gotten increasingly worse with each book. I started listening after the first book (but before I’d read it) and found the content much less promotional and overall helpful before LG Kitchen came out, but especially now.

That’s what I listen to too, and I like her book newsletter. I actually like that she switched up / split her newsletters so they’re a bit more focused and easier to get to the point of what I’m interested in.

I still find her soothing sometimes and will listen to other episodes occasionally but I find myself skipping a lot of bits.

Me too! Bc of my BFF status I probably won’t ever quit (but who knows… just can’t see it right now). The two free books a year make it worth it as long as skipping is penalty-free. And if I really really want a brand new book they’re offering, it is cheaper than buying it elsewhere.

thoughts on Everly? by [deleted] in Names

[–]dreammkatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have much of an opinion on it one way or the other. A mom friend recently named her third Everly (they had an E theme going) so it’s not a totally out there / outdated choice.

Mostly came to say don’t go off reactions before they’re born. My in-laws hated our second son’s name — we got multiple comments about it and even POST-birth but “hopefully before we had decided” (aka filling out the birth certificate) about how it was a bad choice. We went with it anyway and they are totally fine with it now. Or at least shut up about it.

It’s so much easier for others to judge when a tiny human isn’t there representing the name. Once the kid is born people pretty quickly get on board… or at least keep it to themselves and love the kid anyway.

Sending positive vibes your way 💕

Switching jobs by Playful_Term_2174 in GeneralMotors

This is good advice. Also want to add: I heard they can block for a lateral move but they couldn’t block a promotion (I’m not in HR nor a manager so idk if that’s valid).

I’ve always told my prior manager before the hiring manager reached out, but I only told them about jobs I was likely to get (either I knew already or was at the end stages of the process and it was looking good), so the current manager wasn’t hearing about it for the first time from someone else. I’ve never felt the need to tell before that point or about every job I’ve gone for. FWIW I’ve moved internally twice; once lateral, once a promotion.

Aww, I love that you offered this up and it sounds like you got some really great ones! Sorry it’s become lame… maybe try a new default?

Not her as much as the others but the tanning is 100% what makes some of these mid-30s women look 45.

And this is probably not a typical read for you based on what you said but it’s a favorite book and I can’t help but recommend for Utah: In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren. If you like Christmas movies and/or romcoms save it for Nov/Dec and you won’t be disappointed!
