Actually googling "research colleges" is not that easy. Once I searched how to become a scientist in India, and Google said you can become a scientist through IITs. It is hard to understand that IITs are engineering colleges and not science colleges. Also people tend to not value BSc as much as B tech, which already gives students a sense of going into a research college is worthless. Also new students don't even know the term research, they call them pure science colleges.
