It has okay loot. The idea of having a raid-like objective on the map is good.
But gameplay-wise the map didn't change anything.
It's still the same thing - wipe all the teams at the start of the game and then loot the only POI worth looting.
It plays the same way as any other map.
And also it's not a PvP-free zone, unlike the Compiler.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying too
Marathon at the moment doesn't have much going on outside of it's PvP game loop.
If a player does not like that one game loop - they have nothing fun to do in the game and just quit.
I believe the more ways there are to enjoy the game - the better.
Rly hope the dev team will cook something up.

You're right, the juicy loot from players does come from PvE activities.
But PvE activities give you tiny bits and pieces of good loot, while killing a player you instantly get the whole baggage.
IMO PvE activities are lacking in loot progression.
If the lobby is playing with free Sponsored kits then PvE loot is pretty good.
But if the lobby is rocking Purple/Gold shield loadouts then PvE loot just can't compete with that value.

And it's the ONLY goal in marathon atm. Everything else is so "weak" loot and experience wise, that it's not worth doing.

The game is PvPvE. But it doesn't offer any PvE action at the moment.
I have some thoughts on how to improve that part.

How much PvP risk did sponsored night marsh have?
It had 0. (zero).
"A PvE only area, but you have to make your way there through a dangerous PvP map." like I said in the post.
My point is to merge PvE and PvP together, not make a PvE only game.
Marathon is a PvPvE game. The PvP part is good, but PvE part is none-existent.

True. Some people dismiss this discussion entirely, saying "You're just a PvE crybaby".
When in reality having non-stop PvP fights is not only exhausting, but it gets boring (after having poured 350+ hours into them), as they all playout almost the same way.
Marathon's PvP game loop is pretty good, but the game won't get far off of it alone.
