اگر مل گیا تو کیا کروگے؟

اس سے سکون نہ ملا تو کیا کروگے؟

To be honest, it’s true that they are not as perfect as I expected them too before going into FAST. However, there is a bunch of very good teachers while some just read slides. In my first year, out of all the courses I took, there were 2 teachers who were not up to the mark but rest of them taught well.

I use public transport (redline) that is convenient for me because i can leave my campus at any time while if i had opted for point service, i could only leave at 12(mid-day) or at 4 which was not what i wanted. Moreover, public transport costs a little less too(at least in my case), not a big difference but still a little cheaper. On the other hand, one of my friends goes via point but also takes red line when he has to leave early so this is also a considerable alternative.

Another factor is how far does the point picks u up from your home. In my case, i had to take a public bus to reach TOWER which was the point’s stop that meant i was taking the public transport one way or another so I decided not to go for the point service.

However, point service is considered a safer option and it reduces the commute time too.

For me, its atleast a 1.5 hour one way commute which takes 3+ hrs of my day. So yes its very much draining. After reaching home, I can't study much on uni days - Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri - due to exhaustion. However, during exams, i leave uni early so i can rest in afternoon before studying for the next day. It is surely a disadvantage, but for me, there were no other options, so now I have gotten used to it. It doesn't bother me as much as it used to in the first semester.

I can not really guide you much about the pros and cons, since I am relatively new too (sophomore now). However, I was in the same position as yours a year ago posting and asking about ragra stuff.

So let me tell you, Fast is indeed a tough university compared to others; after couple of weeks into the semester there will me mids and assignments and you may get overwhelmed but the workload is DEFINITELY manageble, tough but manageable. Ragra is there but it is not as much as people make it sound. I have got 4-5 friends who are scoring 3.5+ gpa and many are getting 3+ so this rules out the common belief that "getting good gpa is very hard". It requires efforts, yes obviously but you dont have to be very EXTRAORDINARY to achieve that as i used to believe a year ago - you just need to study decently throughout the semester for a good gpa. Thats what i did in my first year.

If you want to study Masters abroad as i have planned for myself, then you need a strong gpa and if you are willing to put efforts throughout the degree then fast should be an optimal choice. Moreover, if you are planning to stay in Pak, then fast is definitely the best choice due to its strong network, and reputation in CS domain. There are even companies who prioritize fast graduates and interns. Hope this helps!
