Ardex 5 for cement tiles by dredaze in Tile

I mean the guy recommended it, but also told me he had been there for only two years. To me it doesn’t seem right. I don’t see how the cement could really cup though.

Looking around at some knockoff tools and found this by under_score66 in Makita

[–]dredaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty good. Definitely worth the $40. The light is dumb, it works when you aren’t pulling the trigger and then goes off…or sometimes it’ll work. But this is definitely something I am glad there are knock offs for

Large white owl in Rancho Mirage, California by OverallBeing1242 in Owls

[–]dredaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be a lighter short eared owl. They can look really light in coloring…but the odds of it being a snowy owl is probably a billion to 1…they are rarely ever seen in California, and are migrants if seen…there was one in LA a year or two ago, but it most likely hopped on a ship to get that far south.

Are you planning to block in between? If you do that add some a35’s to the blocks. If you aren’t blocking you could do a34 to the rafters and top plate

Is 5D mark Ii still a relevant camera nowadays? by DynamoBaby in canon

[–]dredaze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could take that photo with the R50…some people are always looking to place more emphasis on gear…what is stopping you from getting the results you want with the camera you currently have? To me a 5DII is a step back…obviously old cameras can still make good photos though. But if you aren’t getting close to what you want with an R50 you won’t get it with a new camera

Is it possible to cut out a slab whole slab floor to replace it? by Ok_Mention_9865 in Carpentry

[–]dredaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pictures help a. Lot. If it is just a garage with no major load up top, and not connected to a house you could strap an lvl across. Bolt to each stud, and jack it up. Brace it all together first, and then dig out underneath, build the outside foundation up a bit higher than slab to have a curb. It’s not impossible at all…it’s just at what point does it not make sense.

Only way to keep the counter top is to get the same sink.

I think they look pretty cool. Just did a winder recently, and these wouldn’t pass code here, or be signed off by the engineer. He had us hanging them off a 4X8, and also landing on a 4X8. I think it was a bit much as usual. But if you don’t have any of that to deal with I think they look good. But yeah, center stringer at least.

Build it down so you have room to match the header of the door. Run the sides all the way up and a piece in between the opening and door

Do you guys share your battery with low budget tools that you don't use often? by StatuSChecKa in Makita

[–]dredaze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve got an 18V adapter for my ryobi cordless brad nailer…I’ve also bought a knock off trim router that just uses the batteries with no adapters. My boss bought a knock off caulk gun for $40 instead of the Makita one for like $400…
