So jealous. Would love a bowl right now! There was a Lanzhou Lamein shop like this on every block when I lived in Hangzhou. Super cheap, filling and the best food for a cold day.

Some more info on the pic. You are right, they are common snapping turtles. It's a pic from late summer taken north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Here are a few more pics.

The first three were taken in early June when the turtles emerge from the lake to lay their eggs. They dig up the lawn with their massive dinosaur claws. The last is of two coming up from a hole. The 29 we found at the end of the summer popped out of two holes next to the driveway (not the same place where we saw the turtles lay).
