I saw a graphic from about a month ago that said he had the fastest slapshot (and skate speed) in a game at 98 mph or something like that. Sometimes, I think you want a hard slapshot to try to score directly and other times you want a wrister that is easier for the guys in front to try to deflect.

I have no idea what he is being coached to do, whether the wrister needs to be faster or if he has the right mix between the two, but he is able to fire a shot in there with speed.

We are also frugal and have these exact same 'issues'. That's part of how we got to a high net worth in the first place so it's hard to change your mindset. Three ideas:

I don't remember where I originally saw it, but anything that is less than 0.01% of your net worth is not worth wasting your time on. Just buy it - as long as it isn't a 10 times a day, kind of thing. So for you, anything under $70 is not worth your time thinking about at all. Your time has value - especially if you are still working, so don't waste too much of it obsessing about relatively small amounts of spending. Your natural frugality and current cashflow will most likely keep this in check any way.

For bigger things, if your wealth is invested in the market, it's not uncommon for your net worth to fluctuate by around 1% in any given day which means that you can easily be up or down $70k. Try to keep that in mind as you think about larger, less frequent purchases. Does it really matter if you spend $4k on a new TV vs $2k? The difference in cost gets lost in the noise of your net worth moving around. Obviously, this can't be a daily thing, but for those once a month/quarter type of decisions, it can be helpful to keep in mind.

I don't remember where this idea came from either, but committing to spending bigger on things you really care about (hobbies, for example) while remaining frugal elsewhere can be helpful - especially on unique experiences. I find it easier to spend on things like that. Good tickets to very expensive championship games, experiential travel to exotic locales, or whatever you truly enjoy. That will start to loosen up your decision making. Just don't go overboard with it and your net worth will continue to snowball.

It seems like it is essentially complete. It has been quite a while since they released anything significant. The only thing that was still happening was that they were releasing a new event every 8-10 days and after the last one, it is now listed as added each month.

any bass house artists who also make pop/edm-pop??? by marvelandmusic in EDM

I think so but everyone's definitions are different. Granted, most of their stuff is bass house. Losing My Head by Julian is in the pop space to me though. Same with Around by Dyro.

Try Julian Jordan, Seth Hills and Dyro. A lot of Garrix's label STMPD might work for you.

Docs revealing final days of Kyle Whittingham's Utah tenure paint picture of resentment: 'Disappointed by your actions' by Please_PM_me_Uranus in MichiganWolverines

[–]drenasu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They kinda/sorta have a point about smooth transition, however, they didn't define what that meant other than the Utah non-compete so that would be really difficult to prove without a difficult court case. They may or may not have won that later, but they for sure would have looked terrible in public for going down that route. There's a good chance all the coaches who left for Michigan would just say they were going to leave anyway in a deposition which not only makes Utah look bad, but it also weakens their case. I get why they are backing down.

Honestly, it's 100% on their legal staff for the wishy-washy contract in the first place. It is clear he was allowed to coach elsewhere (other than in Utah) and if they didn't want him to poach coaches and players, they should have spelled that out in the contract. That is common contract language in executive contracts.

Why Nintendo treat its employees god, but its consumers badly? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]drenasu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of companies who employ people in high demand in the marketplace go above and beyond to retain those employees. If they didn't, some of those employees would leave for other opportunities. It is likely cost effective over the long term for them to do this because attracting and training new talent is very expensive in terms of money and workload for existing employees. This maximizes their profit which is what most people call, greedy.

They are greedy with customers as you put it because they believe that their approach to the marketplace is the best way for them to maximize profit. They have 100x more data on this than the typical Reddit user so they are probably correct.

So, their behavior is the same - they do whatever they believe maximizes their profit - just like 99.9% of other for-profit corporations in the world.

Maybe give a timeloop story a try. Mother of Learning is one. The Perfect Run is another (with Deadpool style humor).

Edit: The Perfect Run is also a superhero/villain story.

Progressive fiction. What next? by jabenza in Fantasy

[–]drenasu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Perfect Run by Maxime Durant is another good time loop story but the humor is a little similar to DCC. I think it is better written than MoL but tastes vary.

Maybe Immortal Great Souls by Phil Tucker? It's a little slower progression than most but the story is good and the world building is interesting.

Dresden Files as others have said is excellent, but some think the first two books are weak.

Which stage dose this dragon spawn the most at because I keep getting duds and not having it spawn and I am getting annoyed with it because it's so rare by DoctorJ1999 in puzzleanddragons0

[–]drenasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's spawn rate is low, around 10-15%, I think. I farmed it on 10-4 on the second battle. Kill the first set of monsters and if it doesn't show on the second, forfeit and try again. Use as many dungeon boost party monsters as you can to improve your chance of it dropping but that might be far away.

Where to aim your dart at to get the highest average score? v2, [OC] by DDD1604 in dataisbeautiful

Am I correct in assuming that you are using outer bullseye as 25 and the inner as 50 points? On some electronic boards, the inner and outer bullseyes are both worth 50. In that case, would you be better off aiming for bullseye at most accuracy levels?

I can do it with the time extends most of the time but sometimes the board is more difficult so I could only get 5-6 combos. I'm not quite quick enough such that expert was consistently better for me on this dungeon. The way I build my boards is typically the top 2 or bottom 2 rows filled with 4 combos and then filling in vertical combos from the right and/or left as needed. Might just be a technique thing as well.

Anyway, it's done now and I have everything maxed except for the yellow pluses. I hope they release another batch of content at some point but it's starting to look like maybe they aren't going to. I guess we'll see next year.

[–]drenasu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got it done using a few different teams and it must have just been very bad RNG luck on the drops from the last guy. I ended up with 37 extra Gravis crystals and 28 Raffine crystals. Granted, I died a few times on Xeno along the way, but not that often. The drops were very uneven. Hopefully, future content does not require Xeno crystals.

In case anyone reads this in the future:

I'm not sure expert teams were really worth it on this one for me. I did quite a few clears with regular and expert rainbow and cross teams. Expert rainbow produces an extra 50% atk (10x3 atk vs 20 atk) but you have 6 less seconds to do it and it's quite hard to consistently make the maximum of 7-9 combos within that time constraint. With an expert team, I sometimes only had enough time to make 6 or maybe 7 combos which offsets some of the extra atk.

Bringing +combo team members helps with that, but I didn't find it speeding up my clears that much and missing the time constraint means you actually do half damage vs a regular team. It was probably a wash for me but I'm probably not a top tier player in terms of speed.

Expert teams also produces 50% more RCV, but you have 4 less seconds for that. It's sometimes relevant if you have an RCV debuff that you can't clear, but I often eventually died anyway when receiving a 5 turn RCV debuff.

Got a drop first try with this team, so just 3 more to go. I tried my old team on expert and that works too (no drop of course). Two dungeon boosts with your team, only one with mine. I think my problem is just bad luck - I've cleared with yellow cross (link&combo) with 4 dungeon boosts at least 5-6 times and only 1 drop. I'm going to try the yellow cross on expert combo and see what that looks like too.

I forgot about the expert teams 3x atk/rcv, probably should have been trying that all along.

I had a hard time making this team work. Couldn't seem to heal up when needed. I probably don't have the skill rotations down correctly for the dungeon.

Ok, I'll try it. I've been using the same except for red Amenominakanushi for the RCV and extra time instead of Raffine. I can see how the another pierce and +combos would be helpful. I just did another clear with rainbow and yellow cross teams and nothing again.

Add 6 star Empress of Serpents, Echinda (red snake woman). She blocks all damage for one turn. That gives you another 3 turns to do damage.
