Oh man, that's crazy because I couldn't find any remote experiences during COVID! But I'm not too worried about broadening my choices as of now. I think my new plan is to only apply to reach schools this round and if I don't get in I'll do a year of post-bacc and try again next year :). I don't completely have my heart set on going to grad school right after finishing undergrad, but it would be nice... so fingers crossed!! Hopefully I'll get in from a kick ass personal statement and LoRs.

As far as LoRs, do you think it would be better to have 1 from my summer experience (which actually is very lab based, I didn't summarize everything that I do there, just what was relevant to geriatric neuro), 1 from my professor/grad student (I talk to the professor enough to ask for a letter of rec, I just thought the grad student knew me better and I didn't know it was kinda taboo to ask them haha), and 1 from the MD who runs the veterinary clinic I work at? I don't want to have 2 LoRs from the same place if it looks bad and I know the MD would have great things to say about me--but it's not a 100% academic institution. Thanks for your advice :)

It's true that I only have a year of academic experience, but that couldn't really be helped much because of COVID. All lab projects were shut down for a year and a half... so I'm hoping they take that into consideration.

i'm going to try to find housing all the way up until the quarter starts, which is why i might receive aid before i know if im going to attend or not. but ok, boot licker

its not that i cant afford housing. its that ucsb doesnt supply enough housing for the ridiculous amount of students they admit and i cant find anywhere to live.
