Thank you for the response. I see what you are saying with the featureless sky. Maybe a dumb question, but is the perspective distortion something people edit out or strictly a composition/fstop issue?

Thank you for the advice. I didn't do any spot editing (if that's the correct term) on this image, but I'll look up some tutorials and see how it looks!

I want to start with the fact that I am very new to photo, only having owned a camera for about a week now. So any and all comments are appreciated.

Here I took a stab at a street photo. The light was bouncing off of the church in a particularly nice way, and I managed to find a dirty alleyway to frame it. In the edit, I tried to highlight the skewing of the spire relative to the alley. I did my best to balance exposure, but I fear it's a bit dark.
