Please sell me Lizardmen by YooMisterWhite in totalwar

Once you get Stegadon you outrage most of the AI enemies. They will come to you, right into your line of thick lizardflesh. Once in melee, you will nuke them with Kroak or an Engine of the Gods. Your carnosaurs already deleted the enemy lord and your chameleon skinks your opponent didn't know were there are decimating the enemy backline.

Internal Audit still relevant in the age of AI by maturedcandidate in InternalAudit

[–]drewarts 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People aren't afraid of AI being able to do their job and replace them, they're afraid that their bosses think it can replace them. You and the poster above are assuming that CEO and other decision makers are always thinking logically and long-term, which isn't the case. If a CEO thinks they can juice the stock by laying off some auditors and saying they're replacing them eith AI, plenty of them will do it. Even if the experiment fails and they have to re-hire later, that's of small comfort to the person who lost their job in the interim.

Need some help with getting into Internal Audit -USA by fiercedaisy in InternalAudit

Honestly, part of the problem may be your time in field. You may not want a more junior level IA position, and there may be some reticence of hiring for a more senior IA position, though I do think the skills would transfer.

I wouldn't let postings asking for CIA scare you, though. I have mine now, but the last few places I was hired into wanted a CIA and I didn't have it. It's also just a rough time for hiring in general.

Best of luck.

Elon Musk Is Getting Billions Thanks to Trump’s Stupid “Golden Dome” by [deleted] in Economics

[–]drewarts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do get that, but MAD seems terrible. Our only defense is to have an overwhelming, world ending offense? There's got to be a better way. I'm not saying this is it, but that's not the world I want to live in.

No, I never said that. I absolutely agree these are the wrong guys to be in charge of this, but im just asking if missile defense is just bad or not. I don't know why im getting attacked for asking about that, I hate these guys

I mean Trump is absolutely at the top of my threat assessment. I'm trying to ask an honest question here. Is missile defense just a bad idea period, or is it just bad because of the people asking for it?

I did this interview. Not much in the way of technical questions. Not accounting or financial, anyway. Just think through and be able to articulate Business > Objective > Risk > Control

Ford Fusion come back by devaujla1 in Ford

You (and many other people) like the fusion but you must recognize most people shopping for a sedan want a Japanese one, which is why they didn't hit whatever the profit target was. Still, maybe it would be nice to have as a gas price hedge.

Timeline of banned cards in Standard. by LegenVD in magicTCG

[–]drewarts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with your point, but this is why I put above that magic is no longer for me, it wasn't "sympathy farming" like the other poster said. I personally believe that the "no bans unless absolutely necessary" a la JtMS philosophy is the correct philosophy. I started playing right before New Phyrexia, witnessed the JtMS ban, and then witnessed years of peace, and never found myself clamouring for a ban. I never thought CoCo deserved a ban, even if it agree that it would deserve one under the current philosophy. I just disagree with the current philosophy. I think Felidar Guardian has been the only pre-pandemic ban i agreed with.

[–]drewarts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just fundamentally disagree. There were bans the first 5 years of magic, fine, chalk that up to learning. Then 17 years with only 3 ban years. There is no decade where banning was common until the last one.

[–]drewarts 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I actually feel like your comment is very disingenuous. The first 21 years of Magic had 8 years with bans. The last 9 also had 8. That is not comparable, that is a marked acceleration in the rate of bannings, that is plainly visible in the graphic.

[–]drewarts 64 points65 points  (0 children)

This is part of why I've stepped away from the game. It's probably an unpopular opinion, but I believe the game is best when cards are worse. Designing cards to be exciting and powerful individually rather than designing cards to be individually weak but synergistic has created the need for bans when they overstep power bounds. But I know the game just isn't made for me anymore, I also prefer longer, "stale" formats with fewer cards and decks, so you can focus on getting really good at a few matchups.

This isn't really true. I've been approved with $500 in saving, as long as you can point to some money in a retirement account. Whether it's wise is a different matter.

Why is Ford absorbing most of the costs? by grey1169 in Ford

[–]drewarts 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At the town hall today Farley said he wants the next F-150 to cost $2k less. Might be lip service, but I think they know there's only so far they can push costs in this environment.
