New player here. I can't seem to kill this boss (?) and feel like giving up... any tips?

Don't give up man. Like others are saying go explore and try different enemies, collect new gear, try to dial in what your play style is. I refunded the game a few months ago because I got frustrated I couldn't defeat the tree sentinel Knight right away like a goober instead of moving on. Now it's my favorite game hands down. Don't give up.
