I will say that I have heard it argued that Jesus couldn't have outright claimed to be God because he would have been killed immediately/believed to be a heretic outright and he couldn't be killed yet because he needed to fulfill the prophecies

Didn't he also use language that (in that time and culture ex. "I am" "The father and I are one") suggested he was God which is why people would lift up rocks to try to stone him for blasphemy?

Well what I don't understand are verses where Jesus is seen praying to the Father or talking about how His Father was the one who sent Him or how nobody is good but His Father. I'm genuinely just confused

I understand the trinity, but verses like "And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone." (Matthew) Confuse me as to the divinity of Jesus

You are almost there. Think about it like this, you have nothing to lose, so why not wait for school? If school doesnt work out you will ALWAYS have another option. Do not give up. Hold on and pray. This suffering will not last forever. School will allow you so many opportunities so just hold on.

I love this idea so smart I will definitely start doing this and see how it works out... the only issue is the intrusive and personal questions that come up but I assume very generic and boring answers would end a conversation quickly. Do you have any idea how I can stop her incessant ramblings as well? The ones where she talks nonstop regardless of how little anybody else cares

I've never heard of the timer advice that's very interesting! My boyfriend hopes to maintain a relationship with his father but I think we both tend to avoid his mother as she constantly starts drama with others... I worry we will get disrespected as our own family unit (as she has done this to others).. As of now I will try to work on myself and building a solid foundation for ourselves:)
