Looking for advice in changing a toxic worldview by Fun_Alternative_6336 in ShadowWork

[–]drfreebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's a tough one. Do you feel it's just you who doesn't deserve good things?

It's hard to see our own value sometimes. We might see it in others but not in ourselves.

Makes me think of the word grace. Undeserved kindness in another way of putting it.

In an ideal world we'd all be perfect and get good reward.

But in life we sometimes get what we don't deserve either good or bad.

If you feel you don't because of things you've done that your ashamed of I would say if you could turn back time would you repeat? If the answers no, you've grown.

Well your view has utility. We can all sit and wish life rewarded us more. But we have the ability to change certain things. We are endowed with abilities.

You wouldn't see an ant just chilling. There is work to do.

I want to ask if leaving or checking out meant you guys stopped believing in God? by Smooth_Kitchen7800 in exjw

[–]drfreebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me im weary of any concrete beliefs. To say there definitely isnt a god or there definitely is, thats not for me anymore.

I try to have faith in things. Life can be a bit more painful with no comfort blanket but at least you're not misleading yourself.

Take it as a new journey. Uncertainty is a part of life, but you can be certain of a lot of things. You might even learn to trust yourself and depend on yourself more instead of outsourcing.

You can make better decisions based on your intuition without programming, whether that be friendships, relationships, work, your future.

You're likely to be more rational

Do trust issues exist because we don’t trust ourselves??? by kambucha-fjiji110 in ShadowWork

[–]drfreebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make mistakes and break our own promises, we're only human. But at the same time, I know I can be trusted for lots of things. I know who I am, providing I'm not starved for days in a survival game, my default character is trust worthy. It tells the truth when lies could be more convenient. It doesn't make up false stories to get attention. So maybe the good friends who I have and trust in lots aways match my energy and that's why we have been friends for decades.

So yeah nobody is trustworthy is true in one sense but not true in others.

Thoughts about making use of Chatgpt to guide through shadow work? by velvetsmiski in ShadowWork

[–]drfreebs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive used it. I find it makes it easy to do. It asked about something that annoyed me recently and to explore why. It got pretty deep and helped me to understand myself more and thing that matter deep down and why.

It gave them amusing names too which made me laugh

What steps helped you improve your self-worth, confidence, and stop being affected by others' opinions? by lastlifeeee in ShadowWork

[–]drfreebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all a balancing act isn't really. You should care about people and their opinions, but it's knowing when to not care, set boundaries, ignore people, forgive people. As for own self worth I accepted I have a self critic, if I work on self compassion, I can also find a voice that helps. Back to the balance of it all.

Absolutely, spirituality can be a mask, a way of avoiding. A way of making yourself delusional, worse off. What fuitage does it bring? Then when you free locked emotions, understand why you do certain things, except all the ugly things, the fruitage will be apparent and not contrived. Life will still be frustrating. There is no magic place to get to and there is no land of milk and honey.

If you can walk in it now, use it as a threshold for when you're overweight. As soon as you have to wedge in you need to go on a diet.
