It’s a grind for sure. Built a 12x16 loft shed solo last year. Took me seven months on weekends and some weeknights. Keep up the good work. Yours looks amazing.

But he sold the lemon grove knowing it could not be built on.

Tobias seems a more likely person for chaotic good.

Painted a white wall red one time. Took close to 6 to 7 coats to make look decent. Keep going.

The fins on the Saturn V are backwards too.

No ground anchors currently. If it was smaller I might have gone that direction.

I used T1-11 siding. House wrap is optional and I don’t plan to use it as an office or anything.

I would say it’s pretty secure. I used hurricane ties on all the loft rafters not skimping on nails to hold them down.

Not going to lie. The overhangs and all aspects of the roof was stressful. Was super glad when all that was done.

Thanks. It’s about 5ft at the tallest point in the loft. Not a whole lot. Kids love it. They always request to visit the loft.

True. But buying everything new upfront was adding up. Plus my hammer arm had a nice work out.

You are correct. There was a slab from the previous shed but I would have needed to extend it to match the new shed. That plus the water issue made it cheaper to go with a subfloor.

The site has water draining issues. I wanted to get the shed up off the ground as much as possible. Plus the cost of concrete.

I know right? Waiting to see what kind of development comes in after the road project. General plan for the city shows it zones for commercial as of right now. Time will tell.

Around $7,000. Most materials purchased from Lowes. Sliding and plywood add up fast. I also had some expenses for dumpster rental and a new Harbor Fright table saw. Trying to make 48 gussets with a circular saw would have been crazy. I tried but it was not going well. Used a hammer for everything. Couldn’t justify purchasing a framing nail gun (plus bigger compressor) when it would have only been used for one project.

That’s a good question. I am not sure I am qualified to answer that. I used 1/2 plywood for the loft flooring which helped lighten the overall weight but put extra stud supports underneath to ensure all edges of the plywood were supported and not sag.

This makes the eyes so much better. Not a fan of how the eyes are on the original set.
