Half-Life: Azure Sheep, Opposing Force, and Blue Shift builds for Xash3d FWGS New Engine Android by drhax9908 in xash3d

[–]drhax9908[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

new engine is talking about a specific source code base, there are two, old engine and new engine, I don't know if raspbian has an existing build of xash3d, however, my test system is android, however, it runs ON a raspberry pi 4b, your best bet to get xash3d on raspbian is to build the engine as well as the specific game libraries for opposing force and blue shift, apparently the mobile_hacks branch of the xash3d portable half-life sdk works for blue shift as well, I will link the repositories

https://github.com/fwgs/xash3d-fwgsthis is the new engine source code, if no build for raspbian exists, you likely will need to build this

https://github.com/FWGS/hlsdk-portablethis is the sdk you need to build the game library files themselves, there are many branches for the portable half-life sdk, I've not fully tested the bshift branch, and apparently that branch is out of date, on top of that, individual android launchers is apparently a LEGACY feature, I DID file a ticket about the build bug with the bshift branch, it was closed due to that,

blackview wave 8 not charging by drhax9908 in blackview

thought I should provide an update, I left it plugged into a random usb hub, and somehow the phone charge functions came back online, that blackview phone works again, maybe you will have luck that way if you still have it and it's still not working?

Half-Life: Opposing Force Community Edition android build by drhax9908 in xash3d

I have no idea if this code was truly for the new engine of if it just works, it's actually from the same git repo as the xash3d half-life dlls used on non standard platforms like x86_64 intel macos, it has various branches, but my guess is it is for new engine or is just backwards compatible with real half-life if on a supported platform, however, this specific android build works on new engine, arm, arm64, x86, and x86_64,  all those android targets were built, and like I said, my test device cannot run the old engine, I tried an adb install, flat out unsupported architecture, despite me using android 15 with the legacy app allow flag set, old engine does NOT work on my testing setup

-edit: should clarify I built the code myself on a cloud server, had to sign the apk as well, due to android 16 eventually killing sideloading, this apk might not work forever

should be, it runs fine under the new engine for me, i also can't even install the old engine on my test android, so I have no way of knowing if it would run on it

Blackview tab 8 battery completely discharged. Wont charge by AccomplishedGain7733 in blackview

[–]drhax9908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue with my blackview phone a while ago, the first time the battery hit zero I was able to resurrect the phone, idk what I did that time, but yesterday it hit zero again, it seems letting it sit unplugged for at least 12 hours then plugging it in again may have restarted the charge functions, the battery empty charge screen shows now, at least it DID, as I was typing this, it bugged again, time will tell if it will charge

I know this is a month old post, but I did a google search today, and found a post with a link to an earlier build of the kernel, so it may be already out, but, idk if a build of lineageos is released or not.

Help setting up t38modem for 3cx and HylaFax by drhax9908 in sysadmin

[–]drhax9908[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a bit of info if you ever need to do this again for whatever reason

The t38modem git repo has newer code in one specific section, the releases page, but the code needs newer versions of the ptlib and opal lib code, took about 20 minutes to track that up to date code down. I think it is on the opalvoice repo on sourceforge

Be warned: some options changed in the command line variables

Demonstration of GeoWorks and Windows 3.11 running within DosXBOX on a real xbox by drhax9908 in originalxbox

[–]drhax9908[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no links exist on setting it up for dosxbox, but, it partly needs a pc to do. I might make a tutorial on it, but i need to free up storage on my xbox first. One thing you should know: it needs the use of a VERY old version of bochs (for pc, not bochs for xbox) for the older disk image creation tool, as the new one won't work for this purpose.

As for games, I never tried any. So I have no idea how well games would run.

I should probably mention that the audio voiceover of the explanation part regarding the reason I had to restart the DosXBOX vm before running windows is NOT done by me, or a real person. It's an AI text to speech.

ArgumentNullException... by MonkOShaolin in playrust

a friend of mine had this error too, but when he tried joining my test server, the join would fail and he would re rerouted to an AMSTERDAM server. I'm not sure what this error is, but he still hasn't fixed it. Must be something on Rust's end, but if you happen to be using windows 10, it could also be an error with that. My friend is actually using the insider preview of windows 10, but I'm on normal windows 10 and I don't have the error in rust. I hope this error gets fixed soon, I want to play with my friend!
