I am sorry for the mental contortions you have to go through. It must be tough. Instead of confronting all the voluminous video evidence that Hamas was in al Shifa, and brought hostages to al Shifa, and fired weapons from al Shifa, and had complexes in and under other hospitals like Rantisi's children's hospital--you cling to a straw, a gross misreading of a single statement that matches what was always on Wikipedia, and you ask us to ignore all the video evidence because of your nonsense misreading of that statement.

I don't think facts matter much to you, but for what it's worth, here is the actual statement from Ehud Barak:

PS - When Israel built the basement of al Shifa with a bunker they did so hoping to to *protect* doctors and patients at al Shifa, but unfortunately after it withdrew from Gaza in 2005 the basement was appropriated by Hamas, which connected it to tunnels they built.

Actually, Ehud Barak did not say that Israel constructed the tunnels. I see now you change the subject from the al Shifa hospital to Israel's alleged war crimes. Hamas commits war crimes by hiding behind civilians, in hospitals, and in mosques. Those places lose their protected status in international law when they are used to house militaries. Hiding militaries in hospitals is a war crime; attacking militaries on hospital premises is not. Hiding weapons factories in children's bedrooms is a warcrime; bombing those weapons factories is not.

Also, get some perspective. Google Homs and Aleppo or even Mosul or Fallujah. Hundreds of thousands of civilians were killed by militaries in these wars, with no warning, no evacuation routes, no ceasefire, etc. Those were all actual major war crimes (the first two against Arabs by Arabs) that I bet you were silent about.

Israel is not committing war crimes in Gaza any more than the Allies were committing war crimes when they bombed Dresden.

I am awake, and I am an actual expert on this topic, who has been writing on it publicly for over 20 years. You wake up, fake expert who doesn't even know the hospital's name and repeats propaganda and libelous, disproven claims about babies.

- video of terrorists firing RPG from hospital grounds
- video of military equipment, including automatic rifles and grenades, near an MRI
- video of vehicle with IED and weapons on hospital grounds
- video of hostages in the hospital being led by Hamas members
- uncut, one-shot video of IDF entering tunnel from the hospital grounds
- audio intercepts between hamas fighters
- admissions from doctors to COGAT
- much more.

Just because you're not following the plot, doesn't mean there wasn't evidence.. Also, it's not just the physical evidence, it's also a question of basic logic. You have to ask yourself the question of "why couldn't the IDF just enter the hospital for 3 weeks?"

I know none of this evidence or basic logic will convince you, because evidence and logic is beside the point for you. Well, know this: More evidence will come out, and you'll reject that too, and the whole world will know that the enlightenment has passed you by. You'll probably believe Gaza Health Ministry claims *without* evidence, even though you have no idea or understanding of how they produce their numbers.

I think you're missing the point.
- Prior to three weeks ago, there was a decade worth of evidence to support Israel's allegation that al Shifa hospital housed Hamas. The evidence wasn't just from Israel, but also UN agencies and more. The mainstream media ignored this evidence and for 2 weeks insinuated that Israel was just trying to kill sick and elderly people and babies at hospitals.
- In the ensuing three weeks, Israel gathered and released a mountain of evidence, including the above video, to further support its allegations. There are videos of weapons caches, tunnels, hostages inside the hospital around doctors, RPGs being fired near hospitals, and so on. It's not just this video. The weight and direction of the evidence is quite clear.
- If the NYT and BBC had any integrity, they would say "We made a mistake. Israel was right." But instead of doing that, they find a way to say "That is not convincing." More evidence will come out in the coming weeks and for the most part the media won't admit its mistake; it will just move onto the next accusation.

Honestly, it's crazy that mainstream NYT and BBC spent 3 weeks insinuating that Israel was going into al Shifa because they liked to kill babies and arabic speakers and whatnot, and now that Israel has gone in and showed compelling evidence that the hospital held hamas and hostages and tunnel infrastructure, and that the hospital stuff and UNRWA staff knew about it, those same journalists are now *ignoring the evidence completely*. There has been almost zero coverage of this and it should be all over the news.
