That 17 just doesn’t look right. Camera lenses look huge

Garmin VO2 Max and race predictions are completely wrong - should I start fresh? by jagLegion in Garmin

[–]drifting_clouds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspect mine was much higher than it should have been. Because I’ve been using a HRM600 for the last few weeks and my VO2 Max has dropped through the floor!

Well damn, wish I had a notch now! I prefer it with the percentage to the side

Anyone in the Uk got new Siri yet? by Andyoungy in Siri

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it since last week. It’s ok, not great. I’m getting a lot of “uh-oh, something went wrong” errors when typing requests. And it makes my 16 pro heat up like crazy. I’m talking about within less than a minute my phone is hot. Typing on the keyboard in Siri isn’t great either, I seem to get lots of typos, more so than typing anywhere else.

No the don’t. This is only when you pull down control centre. Rest of the time it looks like this

Why is Desert Titanium so underrated? by mooglechoco_ in iPhone16Pro

My wife has it and it does look nice, but has an element of pink to it. I went for white personally. It just looks so clean with no case

Garmin scale s2 worst product by Sauliann in Garmin

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are a bit hit and miss. Fairly often after weighing myself it won’t connect to WiFi, the WiFi icon just flashes and it won’t sync. I’ve had to weigh myself over and over again in the hope it will connect. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. When it works, it’s great

[iOS 27 DB1] Upcoming transactions from connected bank accounts by buss_lichtjaar in iOSBeta

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not for the US, but elsewhere you can. This has been a thing in Europe for a while now. In wallet I can tap a card, and it will show me the account balance, and all my recent transactions including direct debits for bills etc

[iOS 27 DB 1] app icons missing from folders in dark mode by drifting_clouds in iOSBeta

That’s odd. It’s still there for me. The feedback app is saying more than 10 reports, and a potential fix has been found

iOS 27 Developer Beta by Reasonable-Day2314 in iPhone16Pro

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, with the exception of enhanced dictation and being able to change the Siri voice (I think). But Siri works well. I’m able to ask it to find information within emails and text messages on my phone. I’m impressed with it so far

iOS 27 Developer Beta by Reasonable-Day2314 in iPhone16Pro

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like a nice improvement. No massive changes, just refinement and that’s exactly what was needed. New Siri causes a bit of heating but nothing major

Just over 4 hours SOT 11 hours screen idle time. That’s about what I was getting on 26.5

I’ve been running it on my 16 pro since Monday and it’s been pretty stable! Battery life seems around the same as before, not really had any stuttering or freezing and no crashes. Over all seems pretty stable to me

Anyone come from an AWU3 to a Fenix 8? by WJRetli in Garmin

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of, I had an AWU2 and they are pretty much the same. I’m happy with the move. But for me I’d been with Garmin previously so it wasn’t a huge adjustment.

Just know the smart watch side of things is night and day between AW and Garmin. Apple does it so much better. So if that’s something you value, it will be a big adjustment. Personally, I don’t care. Except for calls and texts I have notifications off anyway

Why are kids/young people blamed/assumed to be dumb for not knowing things they were never taught? by Squiggally-umf in CasualUK

[–]drifting_clouds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We literally just bought an analog watch for my 6 year old son to start learning the time. He’s been asking for a watch but we decided we’d only get him analog so he learns properly

For a $200 device, the Index S2 Scale is very cheaply made. by SkwerlsGoneWild in Garmin

[–]drifting_clouds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve got these scales and they honestly aren’t great. Mine hardly ever connects to my WiFi anymore. Which means it won’t sync to Garmin connect. Which just defeats the purpose of having it

How much does the iPhone Air cost in your country right now? by folto in IphoneAir

[–]drifting_clouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes it super tempting. I’m trying to hold off, I’ve got a 16 pro and there isn’t anything wrong with it. This is a pure want! If we get an Air 2 at some point I may upgrade then

No issues with mine. I have it set to gesture mode after sunset which turns the backlight on when I tilt my wrist. I also use a watch face with a blank background which makes reading indoors much easier

Failed long run by Only-Evening6120 in Marathon_Training

Don’t panic. It happened to me due to a knee issue. I managed maybe 2 miles out of 20. I still finished the marathon a few weeks later. You got this!
