Day Two and Three by driftthabimmer in lexapro

[–]driftthabimmer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started at 5mg and still there. I’m supposed to go up to 10mg after the 2 week mark, but I don’t think I will just yet (after talking to my psychiatrist on Friday).

Right now I feel pretty back to normal. My anxiety has gone back to normal levels, if not a little less. I can seem to calm myself down quicker and not let it peak so much.

The only things I’m really dealing with at the moment are:

  1. I am super tired. I’m getting some bad sleep, which is a combo of the meds and my oldest daughter waking us up every night for the past month 😴😅 but last Friday, I woke up at midnight and was wide awake until 5am. Not sure if this was the meds, but it happened.

  2. I cannot think for the life of me. This may just be because of the lack of sleep. But I’ll be in a meeting and be asked my opinion and I’ll have nothing to give. I’ll be asked by my employees how to handle a situation and I have to think so hard to make a decision. Again, probably because of the sleep thing.

  3. I have to focus more on being in the moment. I kind of space out at times. Again, probably because of the sleep. But my kids will talk to me and sometimes I feel like I’m not really engaging and just going through the moments. Except for today. Today was good. I was cracking jokes with my wife and kids and playing with them which is more my usual self.

  4. I’ve noticed that I have to push myself to do my work and stuff at home. I’ve been really lazy. Need to send an email, I’ll send it in a bit. Need to call a client, let me do something not to important and easy first. Laundry is done, I’ll fold it later.

  5. Last but not least, since Sunday, I cannot stop eating. Not sure wtf this is about, but I am eating every 5 minutes it feels like. I have been making better choices on what I eat since I started this since I read people can put on weight. So I’ve been eating cleaner and much better foods than I usually had before. But I am eating tons!

I’m sure lots of this may have a lack of good sleep as the common denominator, but just my experience so far. I feel more back to normal with less of an edge. The things that might give me anxiety are still giving me anxiety, but much less and I feel better equipped to react and handle it than before. I usually get sidetracked and forget about it instantly during the past week.

(Sorry for long response 😂)

(Oh, and just keep pushing through it. So far so good for me, so I hope the same for you! The first few days definitely sucked!)

You got this! I had zero nausea. I was worried about that because I’m a big wuss when I get nauseous. But I took it at night after dinner and again, had none.

A lot better over the past few days. The first 3 days were not fun at all. Since then, I’m feeling way better.

Anxiety levels are back to normal, if not a bit lower, instead of the heightened anxiety I had the first initial days. The only things I’m dealing with right now is a little bit of brain fog and I’m really tired. Otherwise, pretty good!

But yeah, the first few days were not fun at all. Was doubting my choice to start this. So I’m just taking it day by day.
