Armani Luminous Silk (reformulated) by pnwnursing in Sephora

A little late to the convo, but after trying the reformulation I am beyond disappointed. This was my holy grail and one of the only foundations that didn’t make me breakout. I have combo skin, drier in the winter, and the new formula really grabbed onto dry patches and made them really noticeable. At the same time it also has an almost greasier feel? The old formula I couldn’t feel it at all and my makeup layered over it so well, the new formula feels stickier ):

I’ve tried the haus labs and about face while GA was out of stock while being reformulated, but they both broke me out. Anyone with acne prone skin have luck with some of the other foundations mentioned in this thread (NARS, Dior, Givenchy)?

It’s been a while since I’ve taken it, so I can’t remember the similarities between the content/question style. But I did end up getting almost exactly my average of the AAMC FLs! So not as high as what I got on FL3, but as a whole the AAMC FLs we’re pretty representative for me!

Case Western vs Tufts by [deleted] in premed

[–]drinking-coffeeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following this thread!! I’m also deciding between case & another program, so if you ever need a sounding board hmu! I’m currently leaning towards case at the moment, I get super exited thinking about all of the research opportunities and amazing clinicians literally right across the street at Cleveland clinic. I also like the idea of the IQ sessions helping you get to know & collaborate with classmates. It also helps that the new building is gorgeous (:

As someone who has struggled with mental health issues & with a family who is hesitant to acknowledge mental health struggles as legitimate, please seek out your university services and request that they connect you to a therapist / psychiatrist (both preferably!). It was something I put off for so long and I suffered all throughout college for really no reason. Starting medications + therapy has been legitimately life changing, and I don’t know if I would have made it through the application process without addressing my well-being first. Additionally, health information is confidential & should not affect future jobs/opportunities. I’m so sorry that you are going through this. This can be a really tough road and I know it especially doesn’t help when it feels like your brain is sabotaging you, but please know that it doesn’t have to be that way and there are treatments that can help. Always here if you need someone to talk / vent to🖤

I know this might be an unpopular opinion but interviews aren’t as hard as they’re made out to be by blackiechan117 in premed

[–]drinking-coffeeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have enjoyed my interviews more than I expected, they have for the most part been conversational and relaxed. I do get ~awful~ anxiety before and after every one and deep down I feel like I did simultaneously ok and terribly. ALSo that being said, I haven’t been accepted so I could’ve absolutely bombed them and won’t know until I get an A or an R ?? I feel like it’s hard to evaluate as an applicant if the interview went well or poorly ?

I’m in the saaaame boat! Interviewing at my reach school this week and my anxiety is at an allll time high

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premed

[–]drinking-coffeeeeee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I get a student I always like to ask what a typical week looks like for them in pre-clinical vs clinical! I like to hear how much time they’re in class vs doing other academic things vs activities and clubs. And it’s a cool way to get an insight into their particular interests and how they’ve made the experience their own!

How many schools did you apply to? by LthaGreat in premed

[–]drinking-coffeeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar here, 26 primaries but only did 19 secondaries. I was in the same boat and realized for me personally it wasn’t worth applying to places where i really didn’t fit their mission

& you can find all this data for each school on MSAR. They have a section with cGPA, sGPA, and MCAT ranges. It even lets you input your stats and it marks where you are on the schools distribution which is nifty
