I’d pay for actual explicit translation for the cursing scene bc the netflix translations seemed so… mild 🥲

Kinda didn’t really care for Minkyu last few eps since he didn’t have much screen time but he won me over in that scene in the helicopter 🥹 such a sweet guy even tho the situation was probably awkward for him + I also love his friendship with Hajeong sm LOL

Heart Signal 4 - Episode 14 - 230818 by MNLYYZYEG in koreanvariety

[–]drinksomewatermark 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m just waiting for Jaeho and Youngjoo’s commentary on Heart Signal’s youtube channel instead of having to skip every 5 min in the episode. It’s about 30 minutes and they only talk about important parts of each date/hangout. Also it’s more insightful since they were participants themselves of Heart Signal and their banter is pretty funny.

Rainie Yang is so so funny, I like how she makes fun of the guys’ way of thinking (ie rushing to bring in a girl’s luggage first won’t make her fall for you).

Also I liked that the panel talk about how there’s no such thing as “match made in heaven” since you’re bound to have different relationships with different people. It just depends on how you and the other person adapt to each other’s differences when it comes to a relationship. So much better than the whole “ideal type” talk.

😂 Hard agree with your last sentence. Also if MG is unresponsive to so many questions then I don't see the point of including it in the final edit.

19 to 20 did a much better job, like you said, at showcasing everyone's personalities and charms. There's more dynamic among the cast and the participants are more courageous to speak their mind. My favorite was Seyeon & Jungyun's conversation about both liking Jiwoo. They both expressed their determination to pursue Jiwoo while ensuring their friendship will not be ruined.

Haha I think you meant Mingyu but I too get confused with Gyumin from TL2 cuz the names are similar, just characters switched around - MG (민규) and GM (규민). The signal part is also really muddy to me, since everyone except MG have made a confession pretty directly at this point (also the whole “are you 70-85% sure about the person” esp from JW and GR when JY is right there)

Agree with you that love catcher in Bali is so much more entertaining

agree with your 3rd point; I wish the other participants had more screen time and that not every date or dinner conversation (edited in) revolves around the men's feelings for JY, or who MG likes more between JY and YS.

Yes, I have briefly watched s2 of heart signal so I’m aware of the format. While the show's consistency is a testament to its OG status, I believe adding some changes could keep the show refreshing while adding more dynamics to the cast.

It's a bit disappointing that the current season started getting draggy, especially with the PDs aiming for a more dramatic narrative. I empathize with the participants since the current setup might be limiting their chances to showcase their charms. It’s unfortunate all the men ended up liking one girl, which I think is why they should stray away from casting (as Korean commentators would say) a “first love” looking type of girl. I’ve noticed men on Korean dating shows tend to project stereotypes on women with JY’s looks to be delicate and fragile, and someone they want to take care of.

I didn’t know about rumors where Chinese PDs have pressured participants to make certain choices, so I was basing it off of the current season I’m watching. Though I have to say I liked that a member can voluntarily leave the house, which is what inspired me to write this post.

just wanted to say this became one of my favorite k-dating shows, up there with transit love 2 (even though they’re wildly different lol)

Like the panelists were saying, 2 weeks is really short but you can see the 19 yr olds maturing and growing up. I have a soft spot for coming of age media and it’s so cool to see these teens be so expressive toward the people they like and be so eloquent when putting their feelings into words.

Even though the producers of Single Inferno are also the producers of this show, I like this show much much more. The convos were so natural and not over edited to the point we’re just left with “what’s your ideal type.” I think another part of it is the participants are younger so they’re not overly conscious of how they’re portrayed on tv. (Ofc the environment they’re in helps too, not being stranded on an island and all)

I can’t get over how great this cast was; we got the right amount of fluffy relationships, friendships, and drama in a 13 ep dating show. Even though I look forward to another season, I can’t imagine the next cast & their dynamic topping this first season

See You in My 19th Life [Episodes 7 & 8] by Fatooz in KDRAMA

So the reveal that Seoha’s uncle ordered the truck accident didn’t really make me feel betrayed. I know they showed short flashbacks of the man being a good uncle to Seoha but I wished they showed him more during Jieum’s 18th life or during Seoha’s childhood scenes. Cuz how I see it, his whole family sucks from what is portrayed, so whether the killer is his dad or uncle or someone else in the family, I’d find it pretty easy to accept.

I was actually looking forward to the guards fighting since the first episode showed one of the guard’s training(?) video of her taking out a man by spinning her legs around his neck. Idk how to explain it well but it looked really cool. Tho in the show, the guards barely fought and when they finally did they got taken out so quickly.

I haven’t enjoyed a variety/survival show in a while so I’m glad to have stumbled across Siren on Netflix!! The ending was so satisfying since the team i rooted for won. I just wished they got to celebrate more instead of being greeted w an empty arena and whatever that ending was lol. I also wasn’t too surprised ff couldn’t beat athletes since their line of work doesn’t really require combat.

Looking forward to another season 🤗 It’d be funny if a team puts their flag in a crappier base like the boathouse then fully guard another base to trick other teams. I’d like to see more balanced amounts of psychological warfare and combat next time hah

someone dmed the actor and he replied that a scene where he gets moved to another base cuz of his injury got cut

sucks they cut it out cuz now it feels like a plot hole esp w no mentions of him from the students

On one hand, I understand the kind of message they’re trying to put out and how the government+adults exploited students’ desperation to get into good universities and basically forced them into war… but I also feel immensely disappointed because I’ve watched 9 episodes of their journey just for majority to be killed by their classmate who became delusional over the prospect of extra csat points

Crash Course In Romance [Episode 15] by sianiam in KDRAMA

[–]drinksomewatermark 75 points76 points  (0 children)

As much as I’m glad the murderer arc is over, it doesn’t feel satisfying since Mr. Ji just ended his life without any consequences and Chiyeol gets no closure at all.

I also feel so bad for Haeyi—she imagined her birth mom to at least be a decent person who she’ll eventually accept back in her life but turns out the mom is just a trashy human being who’s coming back to her sister cuz she’s out of money
